Nice local pub of Port Melbourne. Exactly what you’d expect a pub to be. We sat outside which is dog friendly and there was a nice surprise with table service! We went on a steak special night which was $20. I asked for mine rare with garlic butter and red wine jus. It was a porterhouse & came out slightly medium rare but was still very tasty. My friends was closer to medium then medium rare. There wasn’t much choice for dessert so I did get a second steak as I was super hungry that day and I got a scotch fillet for this order as they ran out of the porterhouse cut. This one was cooked better and had bigger fries and salad! Nice for a casual catch up with friends and dinner specials!
The environment of this pub is fantastic, and the interior design is cozy and welcoming as soon as you walk in, perfect environment for a drink and some food. The employees are all lovely, easy going, but there is excellent service. The food is always quick to come out, and the quality of the food is amazing, with excellent presentation. They regularly update their specials board - which in itself is fantastic as it provides more variation and the food never fails to amaze. We try to order something new every time we go and so far everything we have tried has been fantastic. Definitely recommend going if you live in the area, or even just visiting.
Great pub for a steak on a weeknight. Really friendly and professional staff, with a menu with depth and quality to keep you coming back. Got the steak special with the red wine jus, and it was fantastic. Great beer selection on the taps too. Definately a great pub in the area, if not the best
There aren’t enough words to describe the kindness in the customer service from every single person we met. This was our puppy’s first outing and we couldn’t have picked a friendlier pub. Paddy was getting all the love and treats which was so so generous. Bumped into Tom & Anna owners were the most kindest people and so happy to have a chat to us. Food too was phenomenal. The burger is a classic and you can’t go wrong. The onion rings were crispy. Tofu Parma, outstanding and a massive portion. All drinks were delicious! Also the chips were not just any pub chips, they just tasted really nice. We live down the road and it’s incredibly comforting to know we have a new local that caters to dogs! Thanks for a fantastic first night out post lockdown with puppy. We’ll be back - probably next weekend.
One of my favourite spots in Port Melbourne, if not in the whole city, and with the best social media accounts ever! just go follow them on Insta; you will thank me later!. On our first visit, we ordered the Chicken Parma juicy crumbed chicken breast topped with ham, house-made Napoli & mozzarella, served with chips & salad, and the Grilled Market Fresh Fish served with salad. Obviously, we were not disappointed with the food at all. It was GREAT! On my second visit, I ordered the Loaded Pizza Fries with house-made Napoli, olives, mushrooms, oregano & melted cheese because life is too short. I didn't even have time to take a picture of it, as it was just way too good to not dig in right away. IT WAS YUMMY! They have a good beer selection, and the staff are super friendly. I just want to come back for more :
Had a steak there, pretty disappointed for the price I paid. The steak was like it was microwaved then seared, the jus was super oily and didn't have much flavour
I love Parmas! And this place does a amazing one. Given how simple the ingredient usually are for it. It easy for parmas from different places to blend together and not really stand out. So everything comes down the the quality of ingredients and the cooking process. I particularly enjoyed this one cuz they tomato paste on the parma had this nice tanginess that really made everything just come together. Crispy crusting in the chicken and juicy on the inside cooked to perfection . This definitely needs to be in the top 10 list for Melbourne. Also tried the chicken sliders but that’s was a meh for me.

There are now a few private rooms available to enjoy quite drinks, a superb meal or both. The food is exquisite. Again I was there with a group. Again everything was perfect. All meals arrived at the same time & everyone loved what they ordered. Definitely one of Melbourne's best dining experiences. Went with a group of 9 EVERYONE totally enjoyed their food. Service was gr8. Will b dropping in for more whenever in the area or close enough
great $20 steak night - Expertly grilled over coals giving a delicious charred taste - perfectly cooked to specification in my case medium, if I had known it was cooked this well I probably would've gone medium rare. delicious salad wonderfully dressed great balance of sweet and vinegar and perfect fries, and when I say perfect they were perfect, because I am very fussy about fries. These are skinny style and presented hot enough to hold their temp. Good beer selection of more eclectic beers. Good music and vibe friendly staff. these special nights at the Prince Alfred well worth attending do yourself a favour. sorry no photos was too busy eating
