Story

Poyntons Nursery is a constant source of unusual and hard to find plants and our buyers are meticulous in maintaining the quality that Poyntons are renowned for. Whether you are looking for a particular plant, professional advise or simply some inspiration, venture in, you won't be disappointed.

Enjoy a meal or maybe coffee in our A La Carte cafe situated high on the hill with views of the city skyline. The Boulevard Cafe also has an extensive wine list for your enjoyment, with all wines available to purchase for that special gift or occasion.

Situated below The Boulevard Cafe on Level 1 and on the gound level (adjacent to the pots display), you'll find our two homeware shops, Poyntons Outdoor Living and Poyntons Interiors. Both provide a fabulous range of current trends in homewares, gifts and furniture.

If you have never visited us before or if you are a regular, we welcome you to come and visit our Nursery.

Poyntons Nursery is one of my most favourite place in Melbourne. Very beautiful nursery/cafe and the staffs are very friendly. I'm also really impressed with quality of David Austin roses selling here. They're very healthy plants and gave me lots of bloom all the time. Just added another rose today and can't wait to see it bloom in spring.
Poyntons Nursery has their own adjacent carpark across the road which was chock a block when we got there, although we did manage to find a spot. This nursery and restaurant is obviously and rightly, very popular and I assume gets even busier on weekends, not sure if the restaurant takes bookings. The garden and plant displays are beautifully setup with clear signage and explanatory placards. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable, giving detailed advice on plants, suitability etc. I was really impressed by how friendly the staff were and how willing to help. Kudos to the management on fostering such enthusiasm and skill! We decided to eat here and loved our meals in this unique location. The restaurant is located on top of a hill within the nursery. Great views down to the Maribyrnong river and the gardens of the nursery if you can manage to get a window seat. We visited on a Friday lunchtime and it was surprisingly, absolutely packed. We were lucky and managed to get a great seat near the windows after only a very short wait. A small menu, but plenty to choose from. My eggs Benedict with thick grilled ham was delicious and perfectly cooked, we also had a smoked chicken risotto and a sauteed forest mushroom dish. All delicious and attractively plated. The crispy fried potatoe wedges with sweet chilli and sour cream was a shared side and rounded out the meals nicely. The walk around the attractively arranged plant displays, all for sale, was a nice way to finish.
Good range of quality plants and pots. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great cafe. If you appreciate the value over cost this is the place to go, otherwise stick to the big green box store and watch your cheap, poor quality plants quickly wilt before your eyes.
Poynton’s always rates with me - the nursery itself has an array of spectacular and high quality plants - and best of all is the outdoor shop and the cafe. To be honest the cafe is my favourite part. Over the years I’ve been coming here the menu evolves but always highly rated are pancakes and breakfast options. The vibe is middle class Nana and families sporting Seed or Country Road attire. There’s a wall of wine to peruse, and it is quite alright to order a Chardonnay with your eggs Benedict. Relaxed, comfortable, tasty, stylish. Cheers!
This is a beautiful nursery. You can find almost all kind of plants both indoor and outdoor, big or small, the way they showcase their plants and pots are amazing, a nice walk up to see their products, it leads to the beautiful cafe on top. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Food in cafe are very tasty, their desserts look really good too.
Great experience with this place over all!!! So much selections although some prices can probably improve better as some may be quite pricy. Staff are great! Plant selection is enormous! Place is massive and you can take hours going around this place! Definitely one of the top end nursery IMO in Melbourne
Great spot for lovely gardening, gift shop and wonderful lunch.... leave room to try a cake... yum! Wear sturdy shoes, paths meander with an incline. accessability would be challenging for some, support required.
Beautiful Nursery with a wide range of flowers. Staff are wonderful and patient. The quaint Homewares shop on the Ground floor is filled with a treasure trove of beautiful items particularly their Christmas decorations, bedding and natural soaps.
Brilliantly arranged garden centre. Stock looked healthy & there was a good range of plants to suit all preferences. Great cafe & homewares' shops in whole centre.
Dropped in to look at some established potassiums and found them at a reasonable price compared to some nurseries around our area. We organise delivery which was easy and they were open to what ever suited us even offering us delivery on the Sunday after lunch time. We will be coming back when we need some more plants.
