Pontoon Bar is ideally located with a fantastic outlook onto Darling Harbour at Cockle Bay Wharf, the home to some of Sydney’s best restaurants and only a footstep away from Sydney’s CBD.

Since opening, Pontoon Bar has quickly established itself as one of Sydney’s most well-known venues. With its futuristic interior decor, stunning water views and its relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere, Pontoon Bar has stamped itself as one of the premier waterfront spots in Sydney.

Every weekend, our nightclub offers some of the best music supported by our state-of-the-art speakers and lighting, lasers & the largest LED screen in the harbour, providing a unique backdrop to our resident DJs. Food wasn’t terrible for the price, but definitely could be improved. It is one of the only places that has lunch under $10 which is nice if you’re balling on a budget. The chips were good and the place has a good atmosphere. Be careful sitting out on the patio section because the birds are quite intrusive.

Cavernous interiors with no real soul, average food and ok service. Tourists may find it interesting but locals should avoid. There are better options in the area.

Wouldn’t let us in at 1:20am saying it’s the lockout laws. I also came here for lunch one time and they forgot my order. Bad music, bad staff, horrible service. Would never come back

Worst place to go in Sydney. Everything is overpriced and the service is horrible. The service is where my main issue with pontoon lies. Not only are the bartenders rude and got my order wrong multiple times and service slow, the security at the door is ridiculous and very discriminatory. I was at a party for a mate and and they found any and every reason to not let guys into the club. A few of my friends were not let in for this very reason as they weren’t with any girls?? They tried to get in about half an hour later but this time had approached with some other girls going to the party pretending to be boyfriend and girlfriend and this time they were finally reluctantly let in. As well as this the security will find any way to not let in or kick boys out, purely based upon their gender which is flat out discrimination. Another time I went to pontoon I was not allowed entry because I looked too “drunk”. I had literally come straight from work on a Friday after I finished and had had nothing to drink. All in all I would never return to pontoon and would never recommend it as it is discriminatory and their is poor service at such a high price point. There are many better options in Sydney, don’t waste your time.

Great relaxed ambience, sensational views right on Darling Harbour. Tasty food. Scrumptious large toasted sandwiches with chips plus delicious pizza for lunch. Menu has a vast variety of meal choices. Kind helpful friendly staff. Fast efficient service. Lovely drinks selection with beer and cider on tap, many wines and top shelf plus many liquors and house options, also lots of bottle beers as well as bottled spirit selections and non-alcoholic too. Fresh open settings with indoor and outdoor seating. High roofing so very refreshing with cool breeze and air conditioning on hot days, plus large and comfy lounges as well as soft easy stool seating. Huge T.V on back wall for excellent viewing. Great for large or small groups, plus couples or singles as well. Easy to get to by public transport, plus many parking stations all around Darling Harbour.
