Pokes good here. Unlike the ones you can get from Kona, Hawaii but one of the best you can get here in Melbourne. But creamy to my liking but there’s a good variety of ingredients in the bowl. You also have the option to build your poke bowl here. Yeah it’s healthier than your typical fast food joints. Pricing like the other reviews, is on the higher side. If I really crave poke and if I’m in the area, I’d come here.
The poké is good and healthy, but definitely on the pricey side. The ordering process is also quite cumbersome if you're a newbie!
I had been having this poke for awhile and the past experiences were great, highly satisfied and I love it. Somehow, I just have one just now and this is my first time getting such a small portion from a matured women. When I saw I only have two small pieces of avo I was confused so I asked to hv a little bit more, she said I need to paid for extra So sad. The smallest avo I ever get. 14 dollars with full of disappointment and unworthy.
Nowadays, Melbournians are looking for something fast and healthy food. "Poke Me" comes to provide healthy life food to Melbournian. The restaurant is situated in the prime suburb, great location and reachable by public transport train / tram. It's literaly 5 min walking distance from South Yarra Station. The concept is pretty simple, you need to choose your protein marinated tofu / kingfish / poached chicken / tuna / salmon, base pink rice / purple mixed grain rice / green base / green tea soba noodles with sesame mayo, toppings avocado / quinoa / mushrooms / pickled radish / pickled cabbage / edamame / zucchini pasta with sesame mayo / kim chi / pickled cucumber / seaweed salad / ginger / pickled carrot / pickled jalapenos, garnish "lil sumpin’ sumpin’" charcoal salt / coconut / crushed wasabi peas / wasabi sesame / japanese seven / black sesame / wasabi caviar and dressing jalapeno mayo / japanese 7 spice mayo / sesame mayo / classic poke sauce / wasabi cream / citrus sauce / sriracha soy. We ordered : * Protein : poached chicken* Base : green tea soba noodles with sesame mayo* Toppings : quinoa, pickled cucumber, pickled radish, pickled carrot and edamame* Garnish : wasabi cream It was $16.00, which was average price for a meal. The garnish served was really fresh and the soba noodle was cooked well *not too soft; unfortunately the poached chicken was really dry but the taste was good. Yay : Fresh and healthy food with good value of money Nay : Poached chicken was little bit dry Service : 4.0 Taste : 3.5 Price : 3.0
Would give a 0 stars if I could. Terrible rude service, subpar food. I got food poisoning from the poké bowl I ordered.
I had my first takeaway poke bowl there few days ago. The protein, veggies and sauce are delicious except the mixed grain rice was a bit under cook. The staff is nice and helpful.
It's a little bit pricey, but the food is really solid. You can get a mixture of yummy veggies, rice or noodles, and proteins like tuna or chicken. You combine the ingredients to make your own perfect bowl. It's very filling - I ordered a large and couldn't get through it, ended up taking a large part home for later.
Sadly this place falls a bit short of traditional expectations. The protein choices are fast food chain level at best and skimpy to boot. Bowls are only offered in one size. The sesame/soy sauce seems to be just sesame oil with brown coloring. There was no teriyaki sauce as an option, no snap peas, no water chestnuts. And while I do realize this restaurant is in Australia, beetroot is just not a poke offering. Just, no. I would like to see this place try to be one of only few poke restaurants in Melbourne instead of trying to put an Aussie twist on something that isn’t working yet. That way when someone craves a real poke bowl offering, they know where to go. Perhaps I chose wrong.
The best poke in town! I have been to many places searching for poke bowls and this one is my favourite so far. The bases, the toppings are deliciousss along with the protein you choose. You get a lot for an affordable price. I would highly recommend you check out poke me!
