"Sale" labelled everywhere. But, conveniently the shoes that my child wanted, were FULL price. When I told to the staff member in charge that the Sale labels were misleading she agreed, but said that there was nothing that she could do.
I bought a pair of Skechers in there last Wednesday, a young fella helped me, was an absolute treasure, helpful, kind & courteous.
My shopping experience at Chapel st Platypus was the best I’ve had in years! Jordan the sales assistant was was so friendly and helpful. I needed some white shoes for a new work uniform and she was completely empathetic to my needs and did not try and sell me shoes beyond my budget. Thanks Jordan, you’re a star!
Walked into the store. One lady was serving but the other was free, even checked her outfit in the mirror and walked out the back when there were other customers as well as me in the store not being served. The lady serving was kind enough to come and offer me assistance whilst her first customer was trying on shoes which was nice. Later, the person who was free earlier came up to me after whilst I was looking at other options and I asked if there were sales and then if there was a possible cheaper price. I received a negative smirk look followed by "no. We don't do that here" in a tone of disgust for a very reasonable question in retail. Was overall, very dissatisfied with the service except for the one lady who served me whilst she was also serving someone else.
Super helpful staff! Didn't have my size in stock but helped me out and ordered what I wanted and had it couriered to my home
Monday 25th Jan 2021. With two staff working and only us and one other person in the store I was not spoken too even after standing at the counter with a shoe in my hands. Once I asked if I could have some assistance I was handed two boxes two try on and then the staff member walked off. No help at all. Both staff were totally disinterested especially the woman, and I felt so uncomfortable being there. I am a loyal customer and always find the service to be brilliant with the total exception of this Chapel Street store.

Was browsing looking for a shoe for work and while I didn’t find what I was looking for the Lady working Kiera gave me some amazing info on what best suited me in terms of comfortability, will be back to purchase a pair of shoes soon :
Awesome service. Staff were so helpful & nice. We had a lovely girl help my husband & i who had no issues getting us 5 different styles of shoes to try. Great selection of shoes & reasonable prices. Felt no pressure to buy either. Very happy customers
Seriously..... just buy online! Platypus have some decent shoes in store... if only their customer service and policies were better! Bought 3 pairs of shoes having spent over $600 .... after wearing 1 of the pairs of shoes twice, there was clearly issues with the product quality as both shoes were showing clear signs of the stitching coming undone at the seam, after very light use.... first time I went back in 2 days later, I was informed that only Christmas casuals were working, and therefore, I couldn’t get a replacement set of shoes..... so, I had to come back at a time that was more convenient for Them.... then, 2nd time I went into the store, I spoke with the manager, the same gent that had served me..... right off the bat he just gave me all of Platypus’ pathetic internal policy reasons for not accepting returns and replacements.... reasons like: 1. If the shoes have been worn, we can’t replacement them.... 2. If you don’t have the box, we can’t replace them..... sorry buddy, how am I meant to know there is a defect in the shoe without wearing them?? The right approach here would have been to acknowledge the issue, understand that we’d just purchased 3 pairs of shoes for $600 and do more to keep our business..... Instead, you have now lost a customer for life, and instead of having repeat business, you have a long-winded one-star customer review that sits on Google for life. Seriously, do yourself a favour.... go and try the shoes on at Platypus and then purchase them online, at a place that values your business and will stay behind the products they sell!
