Story

Welcome to the Pine Grove Hotel!

... or famously known as 'The Piney", this historical Pub is nestled in Beaconsfield Upper, close to the Cardinia Dam and the Dandenong Ranges.

An icon of the area, the Piney was burnt down in the horrible Ash Wednesday fires, to be re-built and become a pinnacle of our great community - where locals can get together for all types of occasions - friendly catch ups, to glamorous weddings.

Now Owned and Operated by a local family, who are residents to the area for over 20 years, we welcome you and your family to visit us, and we welcome you in our new home!

Was a bit concerned after reading the latest reviews, that said we took a chance and booked. Owner took the booking and was awesome. Ordered 2 pizza's and was so happy.. Looked at other dishes coming out, didn't look too bad either. Great wait staff too.

We have been regularly coming here for a few years because of the special night Monday to Wednesday. We have experienced the occasional stuff ups with order taking long waits for average food. Tonight was our last time we will ever come here again. Order again wrong. Asked for steak with veggies and sauce got salad no sauce. My partner's meal also wrong. Went to pay got charged for extra sauce no apology or adjustments to bill other than charging extra for something we never ordered. No attempt to hear our complaint no offer to rectify the bill. So now I understand why the special nights are so dead. Once aponatime the place would be packed and could only get a seat if you booked. Now I know the place is utterly mismanaged. Just steer clear we will never return nor our friends or their friends.

I used to love this place from the amazingly cooked cheap steaks and hearty meals to the easy to read menus... I feel like this place is now just trying to be something it's not the uniforms are somewhat tacky the menu seems to be something made for a classier restaurant it's like putting a Ferrari body kit on an old $2000 car... The wording on the menu was so small and hard to read and the food just didn't seem to match where we were... I think this place has forgotten that it's out in a rural area and not in Yarraville... We want to feel at home and relax after a hard day's work not whatever this is... The welcoming vibe has gone and so has any chance of me coming back

The one star is because the staff is friendly. However: - Ordered food at 20:20 for 6 people (pizzas, steak and brisket burger). Waiting for 45 minutes for food to come out of the kitchen. - $45 steak was supposed to be medium rare, was pretty much done and waiter forgot the burger order. Burger came out after another 20 minutes. Brisket is a fatter peace of meat, but they served about 33% pure fat (no protein whatsoever) on a $26 burger. - Side dish Parmesan-thyme chips came with hardly any Parmesan and thyme (3 out of the 9 pieces were covered with Parmesan and two little over baked Thyme stalks were just put on top). - Recovered by offering free drinks, however forgot the person who's burger was forgotten again. Drink orders had to be repeated multiple times anyways throughout the night. It's not a cheap restaurant. However service is under average to say the least: slow, sloppy and the quality of produce and the way it is prepared is way below average.

Use to be a great pub, with friendly service, great food at reasonable prices. Now owned by Carlei Estate winery. It's lacking atmosphere, over priced & my Wagyu burger was so over cooked and dry i couldn't swallow it. Will definitely not recommend or visit again. Cardinia Park Hotel here I come!!
