nnAbsolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming, and the food exceeded all expectations. Every dish was packed with flavour, beautifully presented, and made with obvious care and quality ingredients.nnThe portions were generous, the atmosphere was great, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. It’s rare to find a place where everything comes together so well – great food, great service, and great value.nnIf you’re thinking about visiting, do yourself a favour and go hungry because you’re up for an absolute feast! How many places are there where you can relax with a beer while watching the sunset? This is a great spot to soothe the day's fatigue with a glass of beer. It is also a perfect venue for dining gatherings with friends or family. Plus, it is even better because you can bring your dog along. The food is excellent as well. The only downside is that it is quite cold to enjoy the outdoors in the winter because there are no heaters.
We went out for a friend's birthday and the drive was gorgeous, beautiful location. Both interior and exterior have beautiful decor, sets a wonderful vibe for a classic English pub.nNot a huge wait for the food, flavours were wholesome and wonderful.nnPistachio crusted pork with apple and spinach mash was incredible, delicious jus to go with it as well.nnPommy Platter was flavourful and gorgeously presented, chips were to die for.nnSticky date pudding was probably the best one I've ever had, soft and sweet and perfectly spiced with icecream to cool your mouth down, piping hot and smells so good.nnLemon mirangue pie was a masterpiece, soft and fluffy with a delicious crust. Very very rich, zesty and sweet.nnKids ham and cheese pizza was a bit odd though, large slices of ham left whole kind of pulls everything else off when you take a bite and apparently the flavours were a bit off.nnMoscow Mule slush was refreshing and served very pretty, lemon lime and bitters was fresh and sweet.nnIt was a bit warm inside, not super good temp control so I wouldn't go on super hot day, but other than that a gorgeous place and we'll definitely come back!
I had a delicious lunch of lamb shank, mashed potatoes and baby spinach and my husband had Crispy Pork Belly and Veggies, both were blackboard specials. Very generous portions and very tasty. There were lots of fantastic choices for food and drinks at reasonable prices.nI had a luscious Rhubarb Negroni cocktail and my hubby had the Hobgoblin beer from England, which he really enjoyed. The staff were very friendly and we really liked the cosy English pub feel. Highly recommend a visit here for the food, drinks and their hospitality.
I'd just arrived from Far North Qld. When I set off this morning it was around 25 degrees, when I sat down for dinner in Olinda it was 14 degrees. I was in need of a hearty meal. To be safe I booked ahead. So the first thing that impressed me, I was addressed by name as soon as I mentioned that I had rung and booked earlier. Its the little things that matter.nWhilst there were enough options on the menu for me to choose something different after reading a review earlier about how good the parmigiana's were I settled on one of them The Italian and a glass of red. Now I need to explain where I come from the schnitzels are paper thin and one often goes home and has a bacon and egg sandwich afterwards. Not tonight Josephine! The schnitzel was thick and succulent, the salad refreshing and the chips not too bad a touch to much salt. I was full.nNow that's when you should stand up pay your bill and leave. But I loitered. I was impressed by the friendly service both at the front desk and the waitress who assisted me. Bad move. I then watched as she walked past with another diner's desert. Hmmm.nOK I mentioned to the staff that I was leaving my hat on the table and would be back as I needed to go for a walk. If your reading between the lines by now, I did so, so as to fit in desert. Stick date pudding it was. Excellent served with a double scoop of icecream with a hardened butterscotch glaze. Warning its enough for two. So now I find myself walking around Kalorama in the middle of the night at 12 degrees whilst I attempt to walk off a little more dinner. Im afraid however I'm a Queenslander 12 degrees and its not even winter. I couldn't live here but with food like that I'm tempted to visit again.
