If you enjoy the relaxing and beautiful surroundings of Mount Dandenong and would like to complement your trip with a great meal in a retro-colonial atmosphere and family-friendly environment, Pie in the Sky is the place for you.

It is Pie in the Sky's mission to fully indulge you and family in a sense of comfort and warmth the old country-colonial Aussie style. On warmer days, you are welcome to enjoy fresh cool air and the amazing views from our balcony overlooking the mountains whereas for colder days, this is just the place to feel cosy settling in with a warm cup of tea or coffee and our great selection of pies and savouries.

Ever since 1993, Pie in the Sky prides itself in offering not only our award winning selection of Aussie and Gourmet pies, but also our tasty and luscious scones, widely regarded as the best in the hills, commonly enjoyed with specially made fresh whipping cream and our homemade raspberry jam. The choice to explore our famous Devonshire tea, delightful hot chocolate or exquisite latte, with our deliciously homemade cakes, tarts or strudels is then entirely up to you.

We've always be a regular patron and always enjoyed our past experiences Today's visit has been disappointing. The items that was served on the table was different from what was ordered in the counter. The attendant that took the order and incidentally the one that served on the table, after stating that it was incorrect,  instead of apologizing for the mistake  insisted by saying that: "That was what you ordered". We summed up our order against the menu and found that, not only were we served the incorrect item, but found that we were overcharged.  On the way out, we wanted to point this out to the manager, whom we asked if we could speak to him outside in order to clarify our issues and more importantly, to not cause a "scene" in front of patrons, but was appalled by the manager's demeanor, firstly, declining to hear the facts from us customers, but instead, was rudely dismissed sans the courtesy of an apology and arrogantly saying that: " You finished it anyway!  (which if had only just verified by checking our table, will find the items untouched. This attitude clearly is very unbecoming of a "manager" who should be acting with integrity and at the customer's best interest so to speak. We have always brought to Pie in the Sky our visitors from overseas and interstate,  as we've always enjoyed the courtesies extended apart from the sumptuous gourmet pies that was on offer.  In this case, no matter how yiu have the best products but with such an appalling and disgusting attitude,  you cannot expect your patrons loyalty.  This  incident I hope will not ever occur to any of your patrons in future. The veracity of this statement is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and recollection.

One of the best pie's I have ever had..! I love the Korma pie. Especially having it hot seated in the car on a cold day ;-)

Very slow service. We frequent this place but they have moved to ‘ordering & pay at the counter.’
I (and a few others) stood at the counter for a good 10 minutes with no service. Waiters who went past and in/out behind the counter didn’t even make eye contact. 
Severely under staffed for this peak period. 

Table service used to be more efficient.

Been there 2 times now and I believe I now have a more rounded opinion of this place. The atmosphere is nice, though can be quite crowded during lunch times, and the customer service is quite good. The only draw back is the pies themselves. Don't get me wrong they aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it just doesn't live up to the hype of "best pies in Victoria".
I'd recommend trying two pies instead of having it with peas and mash and the scones here are some of the best I've tried.
Overall, a good pie place (maybe even great) but not worth going out of your way for.

A bit pricey, and had to wait for a table as it was so busy, but it was worth the wait. Definately one of the best pies I've ever had.
