Very disappointing! We went here using a Coupon voucher for a Nine-dish Yum Cha banquet for two people with wine for $49 value $107.90. Definitely was not at the value of $107.90 and certainly was not a 'banquet'. We received 4 fried spring rolls, a small plate of salt & pepper squid, 6 small dumplings and a small plate of fried rice. While the food was not the greatest Chinese it was passable, we left unsatisfied and quite hungry. The service was unfriendly, not one waiter smiled, nor did they ask us if we would like to see the food or beverage menu. They did not tell us what dishes to expect or when the meal had finished. They did not ask us if we enjoyed the meal and did not thank us for dinning with them. One star given for the passable food and the nice view. We will never dine here again. Word of mouth is a powerful form of advertising, we will ensure our friends and colleagues know of our disappointment of this place.
What happened to this place, it used to be a gem here. Was quite disappointed with my most recent visit. In the past, I've been to Pier Nine at least 5 times within the past year, and was happy with every list. However, in my recent visit I've encountered a great deal of problems. - No menu list or menu checklist was handed out I had to go ask for this. - The Dim Sims I've ordered seemed like they were at least 2 days old, judging by the colour and texture of it. It had no taste whatsoever. - Had to ask for chilli sauce. - Prawn dumpling seemed they were very mashed out, possibly another sign it was a couple days old. - They did not tidy our finished dishes when we're finished with it, it was just sitting there the whole time. - The boss man complaining about whatever to an employee, right in front of my table. - Taking up to 30 - 40 minute for a dish to arrive, and it turns out that they forgotten to bring it to our table I had to ask for this of course. Another thing that was in the past, I've called up the Restaurant to make a reservation even though I learnt you don't even need to make one, I've used their website number and called it - turns out I've called OLD manager - it took 20 seconds to get his head around. This particular recent visit: 0/5 All my past visits excluding my most recent one: 4/5
This place really takes the dumpling. Never before have I experienced such average food and that's being kind, coupled with such shocking service. We literately watched 3 tables full of people walk out and refuse to pay for their meal. Our Roast pork noodle was covered in some unidentifiable white froth, the calamari was stone cold and chewy, in fact the only plus was the beer was cold. This place needs to apply for a spot on Hell's kitchen, sharpish!
Beautiful view and food is ok but pricey! What terrible service! We sat down for lunch at 12:30 and ordered right away. Food started being served at 1pm and in dribs and drabs. The waitress was not interested at all with our requests and we ended up cancelling one dish because we could no longer wait. Needs a lot of improvement.
The Food here is just decent, the day time yum cha is much nicer tho so do visit for that, instead of dinner. Views of the harbour is not that great but waterview nonetheless, and probably the only thing to justify the slightly above average price tag. The prettiest waitress for real gorgeous that comes with a mafia attitude is also a thing at this place. Good place for a quick refreshment if it's on your way.
We ordered 8 items from the menu. The first arrived after 45 minutes, and it was stone cold. Another 15 minutes pass and we ask where the food is, to be told that three of the dishes we ordered are sold out. We left without paying. Probably the worst restaurant in Sydney.
The service at this restaurant was the worst I have ever had. After bringing the wrong order we were told by the waiter that "He does not care". He repeatedly said that we ordered that dish when we categorically did not. He would not take the dish back until I called for the manager who then took it. I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode. No wonder this restaurant was empty!!!!
Well where would you like me to start, firstly the menu we had through the Groupon deal is not worth it , u can't tell me its worth the value it says, very, very disappointed indeed, i asked for a can of solo the waiter looked at me stupid he didn't understand one single word i ended up after about 20mins going to get it myself. .i wouldn't recommend this to my friends. Sorry but that's how it goes. .
Pitty and shocking we had to buy dinner elsewhere after. Tea is charged per person, the "half of chicken" was less than a quarter. 7:00PM seated first sight of food was at 8:10PM and every 25 minutes after.
The first restaurant that I have came across with small spiders crawling on my plate and cup. The service was not even close to good along with the taste of the food. It was an EXTREMELY memorable experience in the worst way possible.
