Yesterday I got to take part in a Dumplings and Things masterclass with the executive chef of Spice Temple Andy Evans and his team. Chef Deli demonstrated the art of making dumplings from scratch and then Chef Andy showed us the signature Spice Temple fried rice. It was such an amazing experience!! The staff were so friendly, it really was such a pleasure to be there and to meet everyone. The very next day today I made the dumplings and fried rice for my family, they loved it! I feel so special that I have had a one on one it felt like that with the head chef of my favourite restaurant and got to cook in his kitchen! So so amazing! Thank you, really!
Very good service! some of the dishes are impressive and quite similar to authentic chinese dishes. Nothing too spicy. Love the entrance and creates a good vibe for something exotic. But can be quite dark/dim compared to Asian dining experience. My favourite is the prawn cakes!!
Everything about this restaurant is amazing even the entrance adds to the experience of eating here. The service is 5 star from the moment you walk in and once your food comes out you will want to keep ordering more food. The servings are very generous so will need to come back again to try more dishes
The experience starts right at the entrance - finding this hidden gem and walking down the stairs. Food was nice especially the typhoon squid, prawn toast and the fish. Kung bao chicken was way way too spicy though so be warned.Food: 5/5
Great food and exceptional service. One person was gluten free at our table, and they were great at accommodating. I was surprised that most of what we ordered was gluten free
One word: PHENOMENAL! My partner and I had dinner at Spice Temple as a late Valentine’s Day celebration and we were absolutely blown away by the food, ambience, and especially the service! We were served by a lovely gentleman named Jack, who really elevated our dining experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and even spoiled us with some free limoncello cocktails at the end as it was also our anniversary. The raw yellowfin tuna was a solid 11/10 and the star dish of the evening We also ordered the prawn wontons and fried eggplant for entrees. For mains, we ordered the sweet and sour numbing pork, beef in ‘fire water’ and a side of steamed rice. Our dessert was the three milk cake. Every dish was amazing, and my partner and I were extremely happy by the end of it. When we asked for our leftovers to be packed for takeaway, Jack added a large steamed rice in there for free! When you eat at a restaurant with such amazing staff, it really elevates your dining experience and makes it something special. We can’t wait to be back. Thank you to the lovely staff for making it a wonderful night!
We tried Spice Temple on NYE and totally loved the experience and food! The NYE banquet was absolutely delicious and perfectly curated with authentic Chinese flavours from different regions! Each course was so flavourful and unique, my favourites were the scotch fillet cooked in kampot pepper & curry leaves - the meat just melts in your mouth and bursts with flavour. The tea smoked chicken with black vinegar reminded me of my Shanghainese heritage with authentic sweet & sourness - it was delicious! The service was fantastic, staff were so attentive & checked in with us all the time. We would definitely come back!
Food was delicious! I’d recommend steering clear of their banquet menu to avoid the westernised dishes. The white cut chicken and beef in chilli oil was authentic and had a good spice kick that most chinese run sichuan restaurants in Sydney lack
1st time we went here we had great service but 2nd time with a few more ppl in our party total 6 we had not a great experience. Food was amazing but service can improve.Recommended dishesKung Pao Chicken, Dumplings, House Style Fried Rice, Prawn Toast, Lamb Cumin Pancake
An all time favourite.. My cousins and I attended on 21st Jan 2023. As per usual, the experience exceeded expectations. We got the Cucumber with Garlic and Mint Pickles, the perfect refresher between courses. The pickles were so fresh and lovely. The Raw Yellowfin Tuna, not my first time eating it, and it did not disappoint! The pieces of tuna were the perfect size allowing for not only a full flavour experience but also a very textural experience. Lamb and Cumin Pancake, a mouthful of deliciousness. The Prawn toast, again so flavourful! The Prawn Wontons were the perfect little flavour burst. Eggplant with 3 flavours.. well!! What a pleasant surprise this one was. Eggplant cooked to just the right texture, and the flavours! Woo! We finished our meal with Pippis in XO sauce with crunchy noodle. We were so excited to see this back on the menu! And it was worth the wait! Totally delicious!! All dishes were perfect and just so delicious to eat. As per usual the waitstaff and atmosphere were fabulous. We visit Spice temple at least a few times a year for special occasions and cannot fault this amazing restaurant. Parking: Wilson parking within short walking distance
