Very nice food. You can taste the authentic Italian food. I had the brucheta yummy and the fungi and truffles pasta yummy yummy. Quick service and the staff were fantastic. Good atmosphere. I will back to try the pizzas because it look amazing in the neighbour table. And I like when they offer you sparkling water.

Overall delicious food and a good experience, but let down slightly by some of the service. Will return. The coral trout main was delicious and the Bolognese lovely. Good drink selection, including an Italian red and a scotch. Entree and mains came out quickly, given the restaurant was busy. Came here for dinner for a 7pm booking. Arrived on time and had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to greet us, and about another 10 to be seated and given menus. Our "assigned" waiter was an Italian lady and her service was great. Don't recall her name but she said she'd been there about 3 months. One of the other staff members wasn't as helpful, disappearing when we asked for cutlery, and when we asked for parmesan.

Great service, attentive and friendly staff, reasonable price. The cheescake was very good. Only meatball was a bit salty for high blood pressure people.

The easiest thing I've ever organised my father-in-laws small family 70th dinner in the private function room of this wonderful restaurant. From the moment I made the phone call to book on the date we chose, the staff made it incredibly easy for me. I was 36 weeks pregnant at the time and greeted with such kindness and extra hands to help move decorations from my car to the venue and they offered me cool water while I set it all up. It's the little things for me that make me want to write reviews for worthy people.  The group enjoyed the wine menu as well as their meal choices and they all highly recommend this restaurant.  Thank you again Piccolo Cucina! Your 'small kitchen' surely made a big impact.  Kid-friendliness: Among us were four small children between ages 2-5yrs who were easy to keep contained in the private function room with the door closed and they enjoyed colouring in the kids menus.  Parking: We all found a park on the street, a total of four cars.  Dietary restrictions: We had a fussy eater who was pregnant and also had celiac disease... Ok it was just me but the options for my dinner were endless and delicious

You love food and your ready to have an explosion of traditional cuisine.  Piccolo Cucina is officially in my top 3 Italian restaurants in Australia. Their combination of homemade and traditional creations is nothing short of perfection in a plate. As some of you know I’ve traveled to Italy, and I’ve definitely shared, experienced and dined on their authentic dishes. Well without a doubt this restaurant takes me straight back there, all I can say is “È stato perfetto cibo”.  Beptiste our waiter was attentive, very personable in his approach to the service, there was no rushing, everything was perfectly timed.  Now to the best part the food, this review would end up so long if I tried to write out just how much flavour and pure goodness it was but here we go. Scroll to the bottom for menu pictures  To start: - Schiacciata : house made flatbread with garlic, salt and rosemary. JUST GET IT!! - Polpette : Nonna’s meatballs with perception and Napoli sauce. My partner said it was the best he had EVER eaten. - Arancino: IF YOU DO NOT GET THIS YOUR MISSING OUT, the rice, the crispy outside, the cheese, sauce, rocket, it’s heaven on earth.  Mains: - Orecchiette con Strisce di Filetto : basically the best eye fillet, handmade pasta you will ever eat with chilli, cherry tomatoes done with some oil. - Amatriciana : a rich tomato base pasta, again handmade with some mini bacon pieces. - Rustica : We had this on gluten free and it was SERIOUSLY SENSATIONAL.  I wish I could have fit in desert but my stomach was full, I would urge you to try because without a doubt, I’m sure they are all incredible.

I have been here twice within a week it is seriously that good! Lovely welcoming staff, authentic tasting Italian food and a great setting. Highly recommended if you are traveling to Cairns !!

I had a very enjoyable dining experience. The service is very welcoming and friendly. I love the crab and lobster filled agnolotti more than the traditional meat filling. The seared trout is very fresh and has a perfect texture.

A great place to eat. The ambience and food are excellent. This is our 5th time there. We don't live in Cairns, so make a special effort when we are here.

Sensational night dinner at Piccolo Cucina tonight with everything all round being of a very high standard. Our meals arrived quickly after ordering, they were all delicious, the service was attentive but not intrusive, and the deserts were yummy. We ordered the pork belly, fish of the day, meatballs and pasta. Everything was simple but tasty! We also had a fantastic wine to accompany dinner. Well done Piccolo!

absolutely amazing, hand on heart the best pizza ive had, wood fired, smokey, cheese and lamb sausage tasted expensive lol…amd the pasta was next level! will defs be returning and can highly recommend
