The receptionist should not be in a customer service role. She is rude, dismissive and condescending and my family has experienced this on numerous occasions. There is nowhere on their website to make a complaint otherwise I would have. The doctor is lovely. We will not go back.
Been coming here for years. Doctors, nurses, reception entire team have always been lovely over 10 years. Grateful for them on the Bellarine.
I can't speak highly enough about Peninsula Family Medical. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. Dr. Reem and the entire team are amazing!nnDr. Reem is a wonder, not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and skilled but is also genuinely compassionate. She is the best GP I have had in a long time.nnThe staff are equally impressive. They are friendly, efficient, and truly care about creating a positive experience for every patient.nnI am truly fortunate to have found such an outstanding practice. I've always known this practice has had questionable reviews but until today my experiences have all been pretty good, especially with Dr Vikas. However while I was there today my partner called up and had an altercation with one of the reception staff and who told me she didn't appreciate Michelle telling her she was being rude. Politely I spoke a bit about Michelle's experience about not being believed about some pretty complex health issues she had and that she feels fobbed off. I could tell the receptionist was uninterested and with the tone she was speaking to me with, I could see why she'd have problems with people. I don't think she's intentionally rude, but her tone did come across as rude and dismissive.nnWhen I started to walk away she made a facial expression as if 'thank god that's over' and I caught it out the corner of my eye. Respectfully, I stepped back and said that now I know why Michelle thought she was rude, because I'd seen and heard it myself. A woman next to her jumped straight in and challenged me how any of that was rude and I said 'tone, demeanor and the facial expression as I walked off'. I was then told that perhaps we should find another doctors surgery to go too.nnI left on unpleasant terms and after an hour or so I thought I'd call back and speak with the woman who stepped in for the receptionist who I thought might be the manager to try and clear the air, because I have 4+ years and being a respectful patient there and felt that should count for something. The woman lady we had the issue with answered the phone and i asked if i could speak with the other lady. She said just a moment and then came back and said 'she's not interested', perhaps she's not the manager and not the right person to take the call but that choice of words says everything you need to know about the reception staff at this clinic.nnYou can say things, without being rude and I feel the staff here need some education in communication. Especially when your in the business of care.
