Penguino Ice Cream Cafe

We had one of the peanut butter chocolate ice cream and one of the maple syrup & walnut. Both delicious and not overly sweet or artificial. Tastes like a proper dairy ice cream, comes with a free wafer which is a nice touch. Lots of mega sweet options such as stroopwaffel ice cream sandwiches for those with an incredibly sharp sweet tooth! Very good ice cream!

The Dutch syrup waffles make for a delicious ice cream sandwich. We had the boysenberry sorbet and hazelnut ice cream and both were great. Going by the amount of awards on the wall you can't go wrong with anything you choose here.

Had to try this place on a wet shopping day in Nelson. Town was busy but this shop was fairly quiet. Daughter had the award winning boysenberry 4/5... tasted minty Son mixed berry smoothie 4/5 very good Me... 3 scoop milkshake 4/5... I chose bubblegum, passionfruit and boysenberry... which was exciting and scary all at once. My milkshake reminded me of Willy Wonka where the flavours hit you one at a time. It would have been 5/5 had I got my flavours right... maybe I did. Perhaps so highly recommended blends from you could make that process easier because there is so much choice. So much here to explore and you can't do it in one sitting. Wanted to try the waffles and would be keen to try the South American flavours such as the make drink. But seriously, one look in the cabinet and the colours just jump out... exquisite We will return... viva la penguino

Best place to have ice cream with lot of varieties. Centre of the Neldon city. Very friendly owner. If anyone wants to try authentic Argentinean Mate or buy Yerba, Argentinean salsa. Good place. You can buy pumpkin cups for Mate. I liked their Havanna dark chocolate with milk caramel. Real authentic taste. Spacious and good interior.

Definitely the best ice cream place. Staff members are friendly, patient, and accommodating. Plenty of yummy, award-winning flavours with waffle cones. The downside is that your tummy will be too small to enjoy all of the flavours. Portions are generous. The also sells yummy alfajores.

I ordered a double scoop of white chocolate and chocolate, and a white-hot chocolate. Everything tasted amazing and deserved their awards. I had to wait 15 minutes for the white-hot chocolate, due to a mix-up, but the staff was really kind and the white-hot chocolate was worth the wait. Thank you.

Demolished the tasting platter in minutes. There are so many amazing flavours!

Really really amazing breakfast, the waffles were divine. Very well presented and good value for money. Staff welcomed us with smiles and wishes for a happy new year. We fully intend to return again tomorrow if time allows for it.
