Parua Bay Tavern is nestled on the waterfront of the beautiful Whangarei heads harbour under the majestic Mt Aubrey & Whangarei Headland

Story

As you enter the Tavern you will be overwhelmed with the rich history & great stories that explode from each & every corner of the Tavern. Friendly staff will serve you from the brand new bar & you can relax comfortably in the recently refurbished interior of the Tavern or enjoy the extensive views from the deck.
While overlooking the bay where orcas & dolphins swim amongst the moored boats, have a drink from our great beverage selection or sample our classic menu which includes our famous fresh fish & chips, calamari ,yummy burgers, our famous Monteith's pie & loads more choices.
The venue hosts a large number of big screens showing all the latest sports & we have a self service TAB machine, two pool tables & four pokies to entertain you should you tire of the view.

Amazing location. Excellent views. Meal nice but small for the price. Nightclub type of dance music not really suitable for dining at 7pm on a Monday night. I have been here many times in the past, this experience was not my best, but I will go again for the location & because I know they can do better.

Great place for a drink and food. We stopped in for a beer and late lunch to catch up with friends. The place was busy with summer trade but the staff were happy, food was quick and tasty and best of all the beer was cold. I'll be going back

Visited the Tavern for lunch while on our Long Weekend break. The views off the waterfront from the deck and garden were really nice. The menu selection was good and the good was well cooked and presented. Service too was very good with all staff very polite and courteous. When I'm back in the area, this will definitely be a stop for lunch.

Great spot. Food is good. I just wish they had a more interesting line up of beer.

Location and staff are lovely. Excellent fish and chips as well as pizza and burgers. Lovely spot for a drink or large dinner outing.
