Got someone you’d really like to spend a romantic date night with, but not sure whether to invite them out for dinner or drinks? Take them here. Do you want to spoil someone with amazing food, but are nervous you can’t afford it? Take them here. If you haven’t got the idea yet we think Palookaville is a very special place and we think you should go there. For us this is because they believe in providing to quote their principles directly “Quite simply the best possible quality for the best possible price!” Which we think is also a central principle when planning a date. The food here is simply stunning. Choosing something from the menu is extremely difficult due to the number of great options, but this will provide a good excuse for a second date here just to try the other options you both miss out on the first time. Aside from the food there is hardly a quirkier place to enjoy a loved one’s company than Palookaville, you’ll be able to sit by the indoor veranda, under the chairs hanging from the roof and really get to know each other. Staff are literally friendly, as in they actually treat you like a friend. Drinks are pretty cheap too. If you are lucky you’ll be able to take control of the pool table early in the night and settle in for a great night. Otherwise Palookaville is very close to the rest of Brunswick Street’s best drinking holes if you get restless.
The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The food is fresh, fast and very reasonably priced. The flavours are clean cut and true to the dish and I've never been disappointed here, which is why I go back!
This place is amazing for a drink with mates and a yummy dinner. Don't know why the food cost so cheap when it tastes and looks like it should cost more.
Always great food and service here, with reasonable prices to boot.
Great 12 buck steaks on Wednesday nights!
