My husband had a light heart attack. We were looked after immediately in the ED. The service was absolutely fantastic and we cannot thank the staff at the emergency department enough for their quick response. He was admitted to hospital and we still cannot fault any treatment or services. We are so thankful for their fantastic service. Thanks to all the staff for their patience and friendliness.
ZERO! It is actually terrifying presenting to ER with an emergency and having to wait 11+ hours. I have presented to ER for different reasons and I feel so sorry for the nurses who comment how over worked they are, have the receptionist slash nurse commenting about another diabetics case and how the patient doesn’t care for their diabetes unprofessional and being told if my child seizures again not to call the ambulance just wait for it to last for longer than 5 minutes before presenting to ER. Disgusted at the level of care and how overlooked they treat the issue at hand because they try to quickly free up beds. In an emergency when presenting to ER I’m getting comments from doctors at how tired they are. Shocking environment for not only us as patients but for the poor overworked staff who aren’t capable of doing their jobs properly. My child was admitted into hospital and was told to return if symptoms worsen.. I return and I am still currently waiting 11 hours later! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED and bloody scary! Who’s there to help when you have an emergency? Might be quicker catching a flight to Australia. Also if the wait is so outrageous it only makes sense to have water ATLEAST in the waiting room.
The wait time is ridiculous, seats are uncomfortable and most of all your hospital carpark is a problem, My car was stolen 3 weeks ago from your carpark & the security guards refused to show us footage of the theives stealing it. Theives are targeting your carpark so ramp up security around it before more cars get stolen. This whole experience has put me & my family off wanting to come back to the hospital. Definitely not happy
ZERO STARS!! I was diagnosed with IBS and had already been back & forth to hospital 4 or 5 times for the same thing. Went to the hospital by ambulance yesterday it arrived at 4:30pm didn't leave til 5pm which was alright with me, got to ER at 6pm waited 2hrs without a bed in excruciating pain just to be told I had to go to the waiting room by an female Indian nurse before that had no communication or anything from the nurses or doctors, waited patiently for 4 hours, finally got seen by the same Indian nurse who did my bloods didn't communicate with me at all, then to wait an 3 or 4 hours to see a doctor ended up seeing a male doctor who denied me painkillers and to be told u can stay or leave it's up to you and through all that my partner was with me he was furious ended up leaving the hospital at 4am in tears told my dad he was furious ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!
Not the best conditions in Ed, no water offered for 6 hours. No vomit bag offered even when I asked multiple times. Nothing about what was happening was ever explained to me multiple people told me different things leaving me confused. I was given no choice around which arm to put my IV in. Was told my phone was at reception and the nurse was picking it up for me only to wait another 3 hours for my parents to do so. However the nurses at MAPU were amazing , swapped my IV line , gave me coloring in and puzzles, and explained what was happening. 5 stars for Nurse Renee who gave me milo for my ice-cream :
Well looked after but sadly still here tonight but they are doing a wonderful job putting me back together a big shout out to all the nurses and doctors
Seven+ hour wait while in excruciating pain and still never actually seeing a doctor is completely unacceptable for any healthcare provider. You can't blame covid on this one, it was this bad before. But I believe there's no sense complaining if you don't offer a solution, so here it is... 1 A free coffee machine and water cooler would be nice. Something with tea, coffee, etc. I mean a wait during the middle of the night would go easier if a hot beverage was provided. And a snack vending machine that actually works might be helpful, especially for people with low blood sugar who have gone hours without eating. This last doesn't have to be free, just an available option. 2 IF people are going to have to wait for hours on end, comfortable chairs! People aren't here for a fun place to hang out, these are people who are sick, injured, in pain, scared. How hard is it to have chairs where people could at least recline a bit and get some rest while waiting. This would undoubtedly make the LWOT leave without treatment numbers greatly reduced and those that do stay would have better health outcomes. 3 And this is the absolute bare minimum you'd expect from anyone, particularly a health care provider... COMPASSION. After POLITELY asking roughly how much longer it would be after 7 hours of waiting and to then be literally yelled out by a triage NURSE, is an outright blatant violation of the oath to do no harm. This last solution doesn't actually cost anything, so no excuses.
I am a patent. The meals are appalling. Sweet things for covid patients? Sugar feeds covid. Some nurses great while others abusive and rude. Fruit random. Ward 24 unorganised, dirty and most staff untruthful. Again. Foods a joke.
Worst care I've ever seen!!! I had sciatica injury. Couldn't sit or stand or walk. Thrown out of my bed with no warning. My partner who was at work in wellington had no time to collect me.... to far by the time I called. They put me I a curtained space and I was told off for laying down which was the only way I was sort of comfortable and then told to go to the waiting room and told off again for laying on the floor like I actually wanted too how embarrassing....I overheard someone say they were driving towards south manakau by otaki and asked if they could take me and the lovely person did. I was able too hobble too the vehicle and lay on the backseat....thank goodness for him. Some nice people out there.
My greatful thanks goes to the Staff of DOSA, gastro dept David, Rosie, Marina and others who's names I didn't get, along with Dr Nick Tindle. Thank you for your wonderful attention and service I recently experienced. Much appreciated.
