Next to the church where the markets are held every Saturday is Our Place, the restaurant that's become a regular haunt for many Balmain locals and vistitors to the area alike.

Amazing food, warm atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff. The menu is small and simple, but executed very very well. The sticky date pudding was the best I have ever had, hands down - also really enjoyed the barramundi main. Love the focus on seasonal produce, and cannot wait for the argentinian BBQ to return so we can try it!
So accommodating for my Low Fodmap self during a function, delicious! Service excellent, nice space beware, steepish stairs for those with knee issues to get to the rooftop, loved it. You should go. Or book your function there.
Beautiful little place with a taste of everything. I enjoy their free soup Mondays which go beautifully with some of their garlic bread :
