Was hoping to try some nice traditional Croatian/Serbian/Macedonian food. Must admit it was better than most of the food I had in Croatia and Montenegro recently whilst on holiday there. Went for lunch, place was very quiet so maybe that detracted from the atmosphere.
Came here on a Saturday for dinner. It's a nice cosy place and the staff are welcoming. It does get busy, so I suggest you make a reservation. We ordered the Lepinja grilled homemade bread and the mixed meat for 2 served with salad. The bread was nice and soft! And the mixed meat portion was quite generous! One thing that put me off about the mixed meat plate was the chicken, as it gave a butane taste to it. But all the other meats were nice. So, I would say if you avoid the chicken, the rest of it is quite nice. FYI, your clothes will smell of smoke, as the grill opens out to the dining area. Hit a like, if this review was helpful
This place makes the juiciest cevapi known in Sydney!!! We had the pork and tried the beef cevapi. Wow they were amazing. Bread was soft and grilled. Garlic prawns were yummy in red sauce. Was super cosy with my partner. Didn't have space for dessert but will definitely come again to try some. 10/10
We got a wide array of meat and kajmak traditional Balkan cream and man this was all phenomenal. The meat was some of the most tender i’ve had in ages & the salad was refreshing. Will definitely be coming back!
Tasty and fulfilling meat platters! We got a mixed platter for two, which was quite generous and with amazing toasted bread. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good quality meat.
If you are looking for delicious, generous Balkan food this is the place to visit. If you never been in that part of the world than be prepared to have the biggest meal of your life. There are many delicious dishes at this restaurant but our favourite is mixed grilled meat because it’s too hard to pick just one from a long menu. Definitely try “kajmak” something like ricotta but better with warm pita bread for starters as well as “sopska” salad. Another favourite dish from our childhood is “sarma” cabbage leaves with minced meat. If you can handle alcohol try some “rakija” and pick from few different flavours: pear, peach, plum . My favourite is honey one. If you still can manage desert after all the food go for “tulumba” similar to Greek dolmades but better
Wonderful food, generous meat portions, delicious warm bread ‘lepinja’, smooth and rich ’kajmak’ with roasted garlic peppers and fresh salads. Always end up being so full
Authentic Eastern European food. Very hearty and tasty, full of flavour. Service was good, meat cooked well. Reasonably priced. Very loud though, with seating so tight.
Authentic Balkan food. Delicious. Great music. Service was good, but not too friendly.
Been here a few times now and they never seem to disappoint, the food is incredible and portion sizes are generous, the complementary potato salad is always a favourite along with the chevapi. This restaurant has quickly become both a personal and family favourite. The atmosphere, the food and service are wonderful. Would however recommend to call in advance and make a booking as it does get quite busy
