Best bangs and mash ever. The lamb shoulder was falling apart perfectly.nWell done team this is our fave place in the mountains.
me and my partner had one of the yummiest pub meals last night. we decided to check out the new menu at the ori and i’m so glad we did! we ordered the pork knuckle and the rib eye… both were delish! i asked if they could do a yorkshire pudding on the side not on the menu as a side and they happily did. 10/10. love the extended courtyard, plenty of seating and a nice relaxed atmosphere. looking forward to coming back next week and making it our local again.
I’ve been supporting this pub for over a decade and have previously had only nice things to say. Our last visit was so disappointing I won’t ever bother going back. My friends and I thought it would be fun to enjoy some cocktails with our dinner and support the Cocktail Happy Hour that they’ve been promoting for some time. When we went to order there were no prices against any of the drinks on the cocktail menu. We queried a few different ones and they were all over $18 even with the 25% discount applied. Which possibly makes them the most overpriced cocktails in the mountains. I have no problem paying $25 in a fine dining establishment but this is literally a sports bar. And it took more than 20 minutes to make those 3 cocktails.nnEven the exorbitant pricing and long wait time I could live with, but the thing that really bothered me to the point of writing this review was one of the waitstaff in the bistro. The woman with the blonde ponytail was so rude and condescending regarding the fact that we were even ordering cocktails. “We don’t really do cocktails here” she says. Umm, the big banner out the front would beg to disagree. It’s not the first time I’ve heard her speak like that to customers either. On top of that, when my dinner arrived it was only just warm rather than hot but I felt very uncomfortable saying anything after the way she’d just spoken to me. Thankfully there are already lots of other great places to eat in Springwood, and more opening up soon, so I’m definitely avoiding this one from now on.
Sad to say after always enjoying the food at the cafe from previous owners, but this was awful! I had rung ahead a week in advance to book a table for 6 people, when we arrived - no table had been set for 6 and we had to move furniture to accommodate our group. Bar was understaffed and there wasn’t a designated staff member in the cafe which meant the bar staff had to run between bat and cafe,nThe food arrived and was below average quality, with several items that were included on the menu left off the plate for example chips with a burger. The Caesar salad was a small plate of wilted lettuce very lightly dressed, a few croutons and pieces of bacon sparely populated the dish. Not likely to go back. How sad to see such a decline.
We had a great experience. Lunch before the theatre for 5. They were booked out in the Bistro but went out of their way to organise a table in the dining room for us and served us in there. We had 3 courses.nStaff were so accommodating, friendly, and efficient. Everyone loved their meals which were exactly as described and delivered so everyone ate together. Felt looked after.nWe'll be back!
