Story

Orana Car & Truck Rentals was founded in 1975 in the western New South Wales town of Mudgee. The business was founded by one of Mudgee’s founding families that settled and established the town almost 200 years ago.

The name Orana was first proposed in the 1960's for the region that includes the municipalities of Mudgee, Cobar, Dubbo, Coonabarabran and Coonamble, with residents agreeing to name the district after the Aboriginal term Orana. The term was used by the local Aboriginal residents for Welcome.

ORANA Car and Truck Rentals first expanded by opening in Dubbo, Orange and Bathurst. The first Sydney office was opened in Naremburn over 20 years ago with current operations solely in nearby Artarmon, on the North Shore of Sydney.

We remain proudly Australian owned and operated.

I've hired some vehicles in my time, and these guys were one of the best.  The initial  booking was handled well and I had some pre-pickup email correspondence handled quickly and efficiently.  The office at 10 minutes after opening time on a Saturday morning was fairly humming to say the least, but the staff who were on were friendly and dealing with the customers efficiently, and they all maintained a professional yet friendly manner. The team member was friendly, professional and actually engaged in a conversation, interested in the reasons for the hire.  The explanations were clear and nothing seemed too much trouble.  The vehicle was clean, comfortable and did the job.  The rates were competitive and the service excellent.  Top marks folks!!

A Very impressive company, with a great fleet of vehicles, at the right price. Seriously, Highly Recommended ! I could never had moved so much very heavy furniture in one day without their flawless truck. The hydraulic tailgate tray made the quite impossible, possible. :  TWO Pianos! Plus an 8x seater Marble table And some 300kg stone statues :  The hydraulic lift system never blinked...Wow. I am very greatful for the luxury of a flawless vehicle. Many thanks. Cheers. CliftonD

Great service and easy to hire vehicles, service team were efficient, professional and friendly…  Since I was a returning customer getting the vehicle was fast and seamless.  Their pricing is very competitive and always has trucks available.  We got the 4.5T Truck with tail lift, makes work so much easier when moving heavy items.

The team at Orana car and truck rentals were amazing and very helpful. They helped me move from Brisbane to GC with a fabulous, well-maintained, air-conditioned truck with lift, at an extremely competitive price. Even when travelling over the 100km limit, the cost per km was so low, it barely made a difference to my budget. Then, even when arriving 10mins before closing, they processed the return with no fuss. Highly recommend the crew at Moorooka! Fantastic job guys!!

Watch out when you get hit by one of there cars. Even with dash cam footage proving it was the other driver fault, they say they will fix your car but they don't. To start with they try to get out of it untill we sent them the dashcam recording. We still waiting for them to repair the damage what there customer has done.

Came for the price; stayed for the service. I have rented regularly for many years through one of the larger car hire chains, but recently tried Orana as the other company is experiencing supply issues resulting from downsizing their fleet through the lockdowns, and had trebled their price. I expected lower qualities of service and vehicles to match the lower prices, but I have been blown away by how high both are. I am now a convert to Orana permanently!

Hired the brand new Yaris for nearly a month and was expecting it too look as good as it does on the website but when the car was driven out to me I was shocked with how many dents n scratches were over it the staff took photos of all the damage and told me too take my own photos for my protection before I left the premises. Then when I went to drive the car I seen the cigarette burns on the seats.  Its really sad that people of today's society hire a brand new car and abuse it like its a piece of rubbish its disgusting. I would think that the people responsible for the damage would have been charged out of their deposit and the damage would then be fixed up considering all car rental companies would be making alot of money. But the damage is still on the car and my family actually were shocked when they seen the car as nearly every panel has a indent or scratch etc. But overall the car drives beautifully and the staff are always a pleasure to deal with and I will definitely recommend to friends and family and use Orana Car Rental again if I need to hire a car. I just recommend take as many photos as you can or you will be liable for the damage.

Great experience from the Orana team, especially Kayla! Hired a truck to help us move houses. The team were very helpful, organised and efficient. Would highly recommend.

Great service and friendly staff, hiring process was simple and fast, no hidden fees, all was very clear from the beginning, The Van was perfect for what I needed. I highly recommend this service.

Orana cars are always carrying subsequent damage make sure you cover your A's with your own pictures before you hire it take pics inside and out. Their excuse they gave me with the last hire is that  "they just haven't had time to get it fixed" false advertising and very unprofessional attitude. They also hit you with hidden and undisclosed fees after you pay the 500 deposit and downgrade excess fee. They got me with an extra $250 in "fees" they said and it was not disclosed or made transparent to me at the time of signing for the hire got my $500 back  Never again forget orana moorooka.
