Steak was soft and cooked to my liking. Overall, very tasty. Food came out very quickly with good service. The specials were also quite nice with unique flavours and adequate servings. A pleasant experience overall.
I go here with 4 friends every 5 weeks or so and have been doing so for a few years now. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the food delicious. I was chuffed on Monday when I was served my apple pie with a candle in it by the waitress. She'd noticed my pile of cards and presents from my friends and took it on herself to make me feel special :
Stood for approx 10 mins waiting to be seated. Wanted red wine told the barmaid it was corked, " what does that mean" and sir I don't drink wine but there is nothing wrong with it. Must say food is lovely as ever, but the service isn't Also had to walk through smoke to get in and out. Toilets were filthy. Not the old Bailey it used to be, shame!!!
First of all I would like to just state this place is 10/10 in my eyes. My sister and I came here for food and drinks, I haven’t been here for 3 years as I live in the uk, our first stop was the toilets they were very clean and smelt amazing. We were then greeted by a lovely lady who was working the bar area, she was really helpful. We decided to have martini espresso cocktails one decafe and that was no problem for the owner to do for us. We also ordered a bottle of wine a New Zealand white wine after having a taste test which was lovely. We then placed our food order we had the goat samosa as a starter to share it was the most delicious starter I’ve ever had. The sauce on it was amazing. We had tried to order ribs which was a special but they were all sold out so we chose the chicken Palme and the pork noodles and we split both meals. The meals were to die for! Absolutely 10/10 gorgeous food. Our cocktails were so good that we didnt drink them right away we waited till after I food to enjoy them as a pudding as they were so nice. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s the nicest food I’ve ever eaten in my whole Australian stay. And we will 100% be back. The staff were great even made a cocktail for us recommended by the head chef which wasn’t on the menu. And it was no trouble for the owner. Thank you all very much for your hospitality to myself and sister.
Under new management, normally buzzing, but was nearly empty. Menu was quite small and unimaginative. Apparently all new staff & kitchen. All male waiters who tried hard but obviously inexperienced. Food was ok but disjointed. I hope they get their act together.
Went on a Wednesday Night. Live music was good, food was pretty good. They have some very good value specials. Kids eat free Kids Meals with paying Adult has to be a full price meal.
Ordered chicken carbonara.. was too salty to eat, took it back. The waitress asked if id like another one. I said no thanks. She said no problem and walked off. She then came to the table and asked if we wanted anything else. We again said no thanks.. again she said no problem and walked off.. no apology, no offer offer of a refund.. and to top it off we had a fly in our beer.. wont be returning thanks.
Had a great time here for the breakfast special on Sunday, 02 August, 2015. Staff were extremely helpful and efficient. Meals were large and the value was spot on! Didn't have to spend a fortune for well cooked food. The chefs really knew their stuff. We ordered a steak sandwich [medium rare] and the Fish/Chips/Salad with garlic aioli both of which we shared. It was the most generous and impressive meal we had had in a long time, anywhere. From a bar/bistro, at that. :- Caz & Gaz P.S> I didn't catch the chefs name but we did leave a large tip in the tipping jar near the cashier.Because it was in note form, the cashier and bar manager assured us it would be added later. I managed to thank the chef and kitchen staff for a job well done and asked him to commend ALL staff on our behalf. Bravo to all involved. You've got a great team there...................... UPDATE ON PREVIOUS REVIEW. **************************************** Tried to go for Sunday breakfast here on the week just prior to the recent long weekend. The same Bar manager who had hovered in the background while I made my previous lavish tip -- you know the one, the blonde with the 60's beehive hair --- informed me that they had NEVER been open for Sunday breakfast. When I protested otherwise it was the old, " We've never been opened for Sunday breakfast, " said a little TOO loudly IN FRONT OF paying bar customers!!!!!!!!!! My partner and I were gobsmacked. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!We left. Yes, they HAD been opened for breakfast and they HAD been showing THE FIGHT on the video screen and they DID have a menu that was a brekkie special and I DID poke my head into the kitchen and thank the chef. And I WON"T recommend this place highly ever again on the basis of her brazen and bare-faced lie and her sanctimonious and belittling attitude.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as the tip is concerned, I hope she has the $40.00 deducted from her pay on the basis that she has chased away too good customers who will NEVER allow themselves to be treated like this again. By the way. My opinions will be added to other review sites. I WILL NOT BE BACK. HAVE A NICE LITTLE CHAT TO HER MR MANAGER. food was exceptional. Staff really lovely. ..... But the band playing on the night was terrible sorry to say. Otherwise a low key enjoyable evening .... I will go back again perhaps when a different band plays.
