Traditional Italian Restaurant
TWO romantic histories intertwine at Numero Uno and visitors can taste the evidence in the skilful creations that come from the kitchen.
Family photos on the wall tell the story of Guido and Linda Micalizzi’s ancestors, many of whom worked in the fishing industry, which explains the abundance of fresh seafood that can be found on the menu.
Also is on the wall is a picture of Guido’s mother, who taught him to cook, although he has clearly developed his own distinctive and inventive style of authenic italian cooking during his many years as a chef.
The calamari san marco is local baby norwest squid at its best – stuffed with a breadcrumb and herb filling, and simmered in a rich tomato sauce.
The fish of the day changes, but those who get a chance to try the red emperor will love the perfectly grilled fillet accompanied by oven roasted potaoes and and a vegetable ratatoullie drizzled in herb-infused olive oil.
The grand finale, however, would be the anatra al forno – a dish for the true food lover.
This is a dish that makes the most of the food’s natural flavours, featuring a quality cut of duck roasted in its own juices, complemented by fresh wilted spinach and caponata.
Guido’s talent is gilded by Linda’s familiar, home-style hospitality, which will make customers lose track of time and become fully absorbed in this incredible dining experience.
Numero Uno also specialise in a variety of catering needs, from the mandurah boat show to weddings, birthdays, funerals, catering for sports stars to anything you pretty much would like!
