The design is quite impressive, meeting all safety and other necessary requirements. When I last visited in 2002, most of what’s now new buildings used to be grassy areas with cows and cafes, providing a delightful sight from the top level. The hospital is well-organized, surpassing the standards of Auckland city. There’s ample parking with wheelchair access, clear signage and guides, and conveniently located bus stations near the entry. The paid parking lots are spacious, and there’s a variety of food options and coffee shops with reasonable prices and facilities for people with disabilities.
My recent visit to North Shore Hospital left me with mixed feelings. While the staff at the Emergency Department were friendly and easygoing, the persistently long wait times remain a concerning issue within the New Zealand health system.nnI was referred to another medical centre due to the extended wait times at the ED department. Despite the warm demeanour of the staff, addressing the ongoing wait time challenge would significantly improve the overall patient experience.
Great hospital, wife been here for 6 days and just the best doctors and nurses.... Flex ward is just amazing the nurses and patients have such a great relationship and all so happy.nThe doctors are just amazing when explaining so very happy on the medical staff at this hospital.n5 stars
I empathize deeply with the overworked and understaffed employees at North Shore Hospital. It is truly concerning to think about what would happen in the case of a pandemic or disaster. During my recent visit to the Emergency Department for a complication following knee replacement surgery, the situation was dire. My wife was in need of a place to rest but there were no available beds, leading to a heartbreaking request to lay on the ground.which was rejected I was left feeling helpless as I returned to the waiting room, only to hear stories of patients waiting for hours on end for care. It is a disgrace that our healthcare system has reached this point of inefficiency and neglect. Instead of blaming the dedicated staff, we must address the systemic failures that have allowed this situation to escalate.
I want to thank North Shore for outstanding care, kindness and friendliness. I arrived on Monday the 12 of August at emergency with a broken hip. Emma at emergency, I wish I could give you a medal for the way you treated me.nThe doctors and staff were wonderful. I went in for surgery the next day and the nurses at the Orthopedic Ward were wonderful. I was treated with respect, kindness and the best care. Thank you to Sela, Russell, Tash, Raymond, Mitch, Simi, Austin, Meredith, Tamsin, Georgia, Steff, Ray, HCA,Chu, and Luke for all your care and kindness.
