Story

The Centre comprises two major supermarkets, Woolworths and Sims Supa IGA, along with The Reject Shop and 45 specialty retail stores, including an extensive range of services, to cater for all your local shopping requirements. With such great choice and variety so close to home, why shop anywhere else?

Forget all the hassle and frustration of the big malls. We are easy to access, with the convenience of single-level shopping in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You will never have trouble finding a car park as we have ample parking with easy access from Springfield and Williams Roads. Of course, parking is free at North Blackburn Shopping Centre.

We have been going strong since 1967 and we have always had a strong community focus, working closely with local schools, charities and organisations.

Middle of the week and parking was tight. Yuk. The centre itself felt very nice with the 3 important supermarkets there and a really good green grocer which wasn't as cheap as I might have hoped. Felt clean tidy and inviting. Pity it's not closer to where I live!

Accidentally came across Blackburn Corner.nLooks like a new or renovated shopping centre.nHas Coles, Woolworths and Aldi. Plenty of food/restaurants, cafes, fruit and veg, plus speciality shops and Jetts.nSaccas has a huge selection of fresh food and vegetables and is very reasonably priced.nThe centre is very clean, bright and new.nI was impressed and will go back again to try some of the eating places.

Pros: Aldi, Saccas, Decent amount of parking, Not too big, clean, no frills such as play area - totally useless. It’s a shopping centre, shop and leave. So glad it’s not like some others where people just “hang out” and it’s crowded.nCons: Terrible mobile reception, No parent parking.

I used to visit this centre when I was in my teens and it had an incredibly dated design and was in derelict condition. Now, several decades  and $60m+ later, the centre is an absolute failure. When you see what organisations achieved at The Glen or Brickworks, it makes you really wonder how bone headed the management team must have really been to spend so much money and retain such a hostile design rest area designs from the 60s, no kids play area, no parent parking, where can you relax?? that extends no sense of well being to its patrons. It remains a shopping centre that people hate going to and will unfortunately continue to be so for the next several decades. What an opportunity missed.

The variety & number of shops have greatly improved,  no doubt.  However,  the redevelopment missed an opportunity to supply a decent amount of shade for the carparks. Unfortunately,  in summer I tend to avoid the centre for the lack of shade.
