Niramaya Villas & Spa

About

Niramaya Villas and Spa is a five-star luxury resort just moments from the Port Douglas village and Four Mile Beach. This boutique sanctuary of exclusive villas is nestled amid fifteen hectares of stunning tropical gardens.

Story

Architecturally designed for all your senses, you will feel Niramaya’s subtle energy and swim in its natural beauty. Frangipani scents float on the light breeze - through soaring pavilions, into private courtyards and over the lillipad dotted lakes.

Niramaya, literally, rejuvenation of the body through returning oneself to nature, is a boutique sanctuary of exclusive villas set amongst 15 hectares of gardens in Australia’s tropical north.

Unwind with a few laps in the 30m resort pool or disappear in the pages of a book while impeccable, silent service anticipates your every whim. With a wellness retreat, gym, and highly anticipated restaurant the resort is luxurious and intensely private.

A short stroll takes you to the coconut fringed sands of Four Mile Beach - and leads all the way to the chic village of Port Douglas where the region’s famous cuisine, culture and character awaits.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would.nnThis place is paradise. From the amazingly big and clean rooms, to the immaculately massive tranquil gardens, to the amazing and friendly restaurant staff.nnDid I mention the food was also 11/10? We just got back and I'm having withdrawals from the salmon / eggs on toast. The most generous portion of salmon. Amazing home made Hollandaise Sauce and that bread. So so good.nnSeriously like no other place we have stayed at. Worth every cent!
I don't know if I can do this resort justice. It's stunning. Absolutely amazing accommodation in huge private villas, including a gorgeous private pool amid lush tropical gardens. The moment you arrive, the relaxation begins. We did have an issue while here, but this was handled so well that I have no complaints at all. I can't wait to come back.
San-ti Restaurant - quick lunch with overseas friend from Asia. We all chose Burgers with fries. Simple but best burgers to date. Cocktails also. Great cocktail bar overlooking pool pavilion.nGreat service and beautiful serene venue never disappoints. Guest couldn’t believe we weren’t in Asia! We live locally and are repeat evening diners.
Overall, the grounds are beautiful. There are a bunch of birds to see on the property by the ponds; we even saw baby geese. I don't like that there were bugs in the room; I know we're around nature, but they kept appearing despite keeping the door closed as much as possible. We had a three bedroom two bath villa, and the shared bathroom was not connected to either room nor did it have air conditioning so it stayed muggy inside there even with the fan on, and we had to go outside everytime we wanted to use the bathroom. When I did come back one day to find ants on the floor eating a dead moth or when the air conditioner wasn't working, the staff was quick to get there and fix the issue. The spa seemed small for a resort with spa in the name; it also was inconvenient that we couldn't book the spa through the front desk. The pool was very nice. The restaurant was good, but it was very slow not enough servers and the room service was minimal if any. Staff otherwise was very friendly and helpful. There were water stations in the main areas which was nice. Waiting after check out for our hotel shuttle was inconvenient because it was pretty hot with the bar area and lobby having open space no air conditioning; there's no where to wait with air conditioning unless you're in the restaurant. There is a shuttle service set up to the town, which is nice. Did not like that the front desk and shop was not open 24/7. The gym is minimal, and they have the doors open without air conditioning so again very hot. Like fit but probably wouldn't go back because of the way the rooms were set up in my villa and the bugs inside.
Stopped in for coffee at this idyllic setting. The resort looked amazing, but the service at the restaurant was below par for such an exotic location.nnNot a very busy morning, and the staff muddled orders, didn't make eye contact with guests or patrons, and the coffee took over 40 minutes to be made with only 3 tables in the restaurantnnThere are more friendly options up here in Port Douglas
