I used to park in this spot all the time, but this place is far too eager to tow you. I have seen so many people towed. Experienced it for myself when I was THREE MINUTES late getting to my car. Luckily the towie was still there and I paid him $100 to release me then and there. On top of that, the machines are a hassle, payment never works so looking into your bank account after dealing one there is always debits and credits. AT parking around that area is much more reliable, plus their app allows you to top up your parking if you’re running a few minutes late without the horror of being towed. One star is even too much for Newton parking.
Friday night out with visiting friends from overseas. First time parking at the lot as we didn't want to drag our friends walking up and down K road. Same experience as the others whom have written the review. Arrived back 10 mins late expecting to see a ticket to pay fine but was shocked to find car was gone. Paid $$303.85 to Amalgamated Car yard at 230 Symonds Street to get the car back. Taxi driver who took us there told of the horror stories of the same experiences people had all the time.The 5 minutes we were there at the car yard office, another 3 cars were being towed into the car yard. This car park is making money by towing the cars away the minute your ticket expires not by providing parking space with parking fee. The tow car waits at the carpark and towing the cars away in droves. Will never ever park there under any circumstance. Feels like we were being robbed. Wondering why such practice is allowing by government? Is there no authority governing dubious business practice?? Is there any protection for the general public in this ever increasingly money driven world of ours??
Terrible place to park. Was towed 10 minutes late getting back to my car as had to stay late for work. I see less and less cars parking there avoid at all costs so it doesn't cost you. There is a nice place to park around the corner.
Avoid!! Leeches will charge you $30 to park, then watch like hawks and tow you as soon as your ticket runs out. Expect an additional $270 to get your car back.
Worst ever parking experience. Paid over $8 for parking. Arrived 10mins over time and my car was gone.DO NOT PARK HERE
Also got towed, 10mins past ticket expiry and car towed before my return, avoid this parking area
Easy to get parking in side roads nearby.
Cheap and best 4 dollar for 4 hrs better than wilson.
Spacious and central parking. Brutal wardens though. Pay up or else
