Opened in 1998, we are located just up from Parliament & the Beehive in Molesworth Street, an area with significant history. We are also situated within easy walking distance to the major shopping area of Lambton Quay. We offer top service, a massive range of quality products and weekly specials & bargains. We also provide Online Shopping with Delivery and Click & Collect (www.newworld.co.nz/shopthorndon).
We provide Corporate and Personal Catering with our Made2Order service (www.newworld.co.nz/made2order). Pickup or delivery options available.
Our site incorporates an Historic Places Trust listed brick Brew Tower (circa 1915).

Love coming here! Got a free lamb & beetroot slider & a smile! plus some yummy cheese tasting. Huge range here that you don't see in many other places. The deli & bakery are amazing. Great for hot foods, exotic meats & sandwiches made to order. It's a degustation destination!

Big New World supermarket with more complete items and spacious parking space.  This one is located in the Pipitea area and open from 7 AM to 11 PM.  I love the hot, ready - to- eat food selection, seafood and bread as well as sushi. Some of my fave is the ciabatta with olives and sun-dried tomatoes and the sourdoughs. They also carry huge selection of cheese and wine. A lot of birthday cakes as well, including the one you can customized  The prices for fresh fruits and veggies might be a bit more expensive. But don’t forget to check out their specials.  Staff are helpful and the cashiers are fast. It is also disability friendly

A good size store and a great selection of foods. It can be a bit more expensive than other stores but there are always some good deals to be had. I also like the collections they offer like glasses when you collect stickers or free water bottles over a certain spend

Often go in here to get lunch. The lunch selection, from freshly made sandwiches, warm lasagne and pies to the bakery selection is excellent and reasonably priced. That said I don't ever do my grocery shopping here as it's incredibly expensive. Of course if you're keen to pay a lot more for the same thing which is available elsewhere, fill your boots!

Visiting from out of town, this supermarket was around the corner from my hotel. Going to adventure for dinner after work I was super impressed with the incredible range available...from an incredible deli and bakery to an incredible range of ready made foods. Would visit again in an instant when here.

A very nice place. The service was excellent & an excellent Cake was purchased at short notice. If you find yourself requiring a decent cake     New World Thorndon is a great central Wellington option. Thanks!

It's a big supermarket with a great selection. We always buy our cakes from the bakery and do all our major shopping trips here even though we live in Karori. I just wish it was easier to get back onto Tinakori Road from the car park.

From being out of town I rung and ordered a Red Velvet Cake for my daughters 21st. The cake was amazing so a big thank you new world Thornton and I would highly recommend

First experience in this supermarket. Great service,  great food, excellent selection of wine, could not ask for more. Super helpful staff Good selection of takeaways Excellent Fresh  breads. I only came for ham and cheese croissants Left with a few wines and a bottle of piper

Best range for high end foods. Best beer range of any supermarket and most bottle stores. Can be very busy due to the location.
