Super easy urban supermarket on Lambdon Quay at Cable Car Lane. Yes, *that* Cable Car Lane. You can walk past the guy at the entrance begging or maybe give him a dollar, it's up to you..nnInside, bakery, prepared sandwiches and salads and lots of ready-to-eat stuff. Beyong that, pretty much a full grocery. Cleaning supplies and cooking stuff and cereal and produce and meats it's not a full butchery, this is done offsite and frozen and beverages.nnSelf-checkout worked quite well and I was able to put my stuff in my backpack and not buy another reusable shopping bag.
A small and compact supermarket in the business area. The layout is ok and much easier to navigate and easier to your brain than New World's; despite the aisle signages are on the far side of the aisle. Price is more competitive and most of their produce are quite fresh. The checkout queue lines are now streamed lined to a single queue which reduces the confusion.
I went to purchase some full bunches of celery today, but the self check out machine did not have this option it only showed half bunches. I asked a staff member for assistance, and he went to speak to another staff member in a different language that I could not understand. However instead of coming back to me, he ignored me and left me stranded on the machine for a few minutes. I had to approach him again to get any assistance. Very poor and rude customer service and I will be going to New World instead from now on.
Nice supermarket at a great location. Variety is great there is everything you need for your weekly shopping. Prices are modarate. Also its a very clean supermarket.
Worst Countdown ever. The tomatoes on the shelf were MOULDY! And the pricetag on them was $10.99. When I politely pointed it out to a staff member she kinda giggled/burped and just walked away??? It was so weird.nnOverall, an incredibly expensive store with unhelpful staff, messy shelves, and mouldy, spoiled, half opened product.
