I’ve been here for dinner twice. Really good Chinese food. Small but comfortable restaurant. When you ready to pay, staff will give you fortune cookie. Little surprise but big sweet service.

Wonderful staff - super helpful, and friendly. Excellent food. Wish we knew about this restaurant earlier. The customer service was just exceptional. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the portions are quite generous. Thanks guys, we loved everything about the restaurant

Traditional eat in restaurant with outstanding service and even better food. Flavours were absolutely spot on. Portion sizes are very good. Diverse  menu that offer a full takeaway menu. Doesn't  look like much form the outside but it is definitely worth stopping. Parking available at the rear of shop.

We have eaten here for many years both dine in and take away. Always good quality food. Tonight we asked them to make us a custom dish using eggplant as there was none on the menu. They obliged and one of the chef's made an eggplant and pork dish from his region of china, it was really good! I would highly recommend buying food from these guys....... I am a white male born and bred Aussie who has been to China so my comment has some relevance. Enjoy.

Well it was a favourite, but after tonight they have gone down hill fast. 1.5 hours wait and we only got rice. Took another hour to get the rest of the food. Apparently they are under new ownership. At least 3 tables left after waiting an hour, one couple waited 2 hours for take away. Food is still fantastic, can't fault that but until they lift there game, I would not recommend them.

Love the old world decor. Looking forward to dining there as majority of reviews positive. Had the take away  option of some very yummy honey chicken. Definitely coming back for more. Position a plus with parking behind. Also Conveniently very near a bus stop so you can take your meal home with you.

Recently had lunch at New Canton with a visiting friend from China, who was actually quite impressed by the dishes served there We had Quail, Duck Pancake, steamed rice, as well as a "Shandy" which i think consisted of a smaller portion of braised beef, spring rolls, fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Personally, I was impressed by the hospitality shown, as the waiter offered us tea and free prawn crackers while we waited for the first course, followed by fortune cookies at the end, and diligent refills of tea. The restaurant interior was decorated with Chinese calligraphy and art as well as being air-conditioned, which is always a plus. This was the second time I had ate at New Canton and I have thoroughly enjoyed both visits.

I have been coming here for nearly 20 years with my husband and our family.  It was the best Chinese food and I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants all over the world. However, i have been overseas for a year, came back looking forward to having a great meal there only to find Chow sold business and the food was nothing like past years. We were so disappointed, we won't be back. Orange peel chicken was watery with no flavour & they gave us the wrong pork dish which was dry and tough. We miss you Chow and your delicious food

Well they serve you here which is a great start, Hard to find a restaurant that has good service these days.Service was very friendly. Found the seating very crammed. The food was well priced. Gave three stars because we felt food was low quality, They also had tip jar which always annoys me. the menu selection was way to big..

This restaurant has without a doubt, the absolute best Chinese/Asian style food I've ever had the privilege to eat. Literally every single dish I've ever ordered from this place and I've had a lot exceeds every expectation. The retro Chinese decor has been untouched since I was 3 years old in 2000 and was probably the same before then as well. Hands down the best Chinese you can get in Brisbane, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Would recommend the Jan See special, honey chicken or deep fried wontons anything is good though.
