Good find, behind the QVB Feels like a family run place with friendly service and a good selection of delicious food. It’s an unassuming place but packed with goodness and reminds me a lot of restaurants in Japan. Everyone should find something to their liking. The chef’s selection of sushi was fresh and delicious. The vegetable tempura was light and crispy. I’ll certainly be back
Authentic japanese restaurant with many menu selection of foods and drinks. Very delicious and good taste. But place and table are quite small, so feel little uncomfortable. Other than that, everything are excellent.Food: 5/5
Small, quaint Japanese restaurant that I stumbled across. The vibe feels very cosy and the food we ordered was really delicious. It is a bit on the pricier side, but was impressed with the quality of the salmon.
Lovely little lower-ground restaurant for a cosy and casual night out. Being located in a more quiet street of the CBD, it doesn't have a very noticeable presence but this place is still deserving to be pocketed into someone's repertoire of Sydney's Japanese restaurant gems. What really helped was their easily accessible and clear menu on their website that made it easy for us to decide what to get before stepping in. For their dinner mains menu it would be more convenient if they had an option to make it into a meal e.g. + miso soup, + rice, + option of side. I appreciate their attention to flavour in their dishes being well balanced and satisfying. Props to the chef who made the nasubi tofu yaki because the eggplant was grilled to softness in a subtle melt-in-your mouth way and well complemented with the fried tofu.
Nice restaurant with food quality food and quick service. But the seats are not very spacious so maybe not very suitable for big group of people. The sashimi is really fresh. I personally think the sashimi is better than the sushi. We also ordered wagyu steak which is perfectly cooked. Soft shell crab tempura is crispy and not greasy as well. They offer good deal AUD 5 per one Kirin Ichiban beer. And we ordered their homemade yuzu sorbet and mango gelato. Both not too sweet but rich flavour. Perfect to end the dinner with the desserts.
My favourite Japanese Restaurant in Sydney. Small restaurant serving delicious Japanese Food. I been here 4 times in the last 3 months and everything has been delicious Last visit in April 2022 I had the pork gyoza, takoyaki, and Agedashi Tofu. Yum yum yum Last review: Awesome Japanese restaurant in the heart of Sydney city centre, just across from QVB Building, just minutes walk from Town Hall Train Station. Just a small restaurant with 30 seats, reminds me so much of restaurants in Tokyo. Great traditional Japanese food served by friendly Japanese staff and reasonable prices for a restaurant in the city. I had some fresh, tasty sashimi and delicious yakitori chicken Skewers.
Good place for dinner, food was great, the carpaccio tasted very fishy on the other hand - not the freshest whilst the sashimi was great, wasn’t sure what happened to the salmon carpaccio. Price is a little on the expensive side.
Excellent service, very welcoming and accomodating called us when a table became available on a busy Friday night! and absolutely delicious food. Every dish coming from the kitchen was fantastic. A gem in the CBD. Vegetarian options: Had a vegetarian in our party and they were very accommodating with a special vegetarian menu, and made suggestions to help us choose.
Went in on Saturday. Presentation is good, but rice was cooked too dry and hard, not cooked on the day but the day before I assume.
I came here by myself for dinner & ordered 3 dishes which was more than enough I took leftovers home, and I really enjoyed my meal. I’ve never really had sashimi before but it was fresh and seemed high quality, and everything else tasted good. The restaurant was very small but clean which I appreciate an. the staff were lovely. I think it may be a tad expensive for what it is but I would come here here again
