I attended this school between 1946-52. The school was ahead of it's time, co-ed, specialist teachers for subjects, English, maths, etc. The school also boasted a swimming pool, unheard of in those days. Many fond memories, great school.
MPS is he best school of all time.nThis school has some of the nicest staff you will ever meet. Mps offers many opportunities like a sport program with other schools and many extracurriculars. The school also offers a performing arts program which makes a big production happen once a year. MPS offers a wide range of extracurricular activities such as Kids on Key, Kelly Sports, Soccerwise, Digi Makers, Code Club, Chess Club, and Play Program. The school also has a therapy dog named Maisie, who helps students feel more comfortable and relaxed. The school has a strong focus on student well-being and safety, with programs such as Child Safety Standards and eSmart. The school has a dedicated school psychologist who provides support to students and parents. At MPS you can form close connections and friendships with students and staff.
We moved to the area from Queensland middle of last year and were so concerned about the school for our son having not visited prior. We managed to sneak in a school tour right before the second lockdown occurred the principal showed us around herself! and our son's first term term 3 was all online, so I got to hear how he was being taught andnI must say I was incredibly impressed with the level of professionalism and care shown by his Grade 3 teacher. She kept the students motivated and still maintained impeccable learning standards. When the kids were able to resume in-school classes in Term 4, our son would come home and talk about his day and rattle off several things he'd learned as well as who he'd played with. His teacher did a wonderful job in helping us connect with other parents and their families to build some friendships for our son, and he is thriving. I was very concerned about bullying, but so far we've not heard anything to be worried about and our son is happy to head back to MPS for Grade 4. Very happy with our decision to move to this neighborhood for our son to attend - our youngest starts Prep this year and can't wait!
I went to Murrumbeena from 2010-2016 and I often still think about my time there. I remember this school fondly, and it has taught me many of the life skills I still use today. It has incredible facilities, and the teachers are approachable and know what they're doing. I was always excited for school and looked forward to seeing my friends. I wish I could go back now honestly.
Worst flag tag coach ever so biased for their own school and students know and are using it to their advantage.
