Story

Passion. Determination. Talent. Three words to describe chef/owner Ferdi Salvana!

Ferdi migrated from the Philippines to Victoria at ten years old. Classically French trained, with over 27 year’s experience, he has also worked alongside great Asian chefs, such as James Tan (from The Duck at Crown Casino, Melbourne).

Mr Soy Boy takes the best from a variety of Asian cultures and uses fresh, local ingredients and housemade sauces to provide customers the delights of unique modern asian cuisine.

Catering for customer’s preferences of chilli and other dietary requests (just ask) means you can sit back and relax, smell the aromas and ready your taste buds!

Great food and very friendly staff! The only negative is that there's some sort of horrible garbage smell before you walk into the restaurant. I don't think it's their fault but it still makes you wonder before you walk in.

By far one of the best Asian restaurants in the Cairns area. The service was excellent, with Ferdi coming and personally greeting us. The wonderful ambience was matched only by the food, which was fresh and delicious. Definitely would go and eat here again.

Great food and great service. Can't believe they have been there for 2 years and we have only just discovered this place now. Will definitely become one of our regular restaurants.

We are highly recommend this restaurant as we were dining while we were travelling at Cairns. The foods are excellent and the place is cosy and Ferdi the owner is very friendly. Tonight I tried the sizzling mongolian beef stir fry...............OMG it was absolutely delicious and the beef so damn tender it just melted in my mouth. The dining room set out is clean and set out exceptionally well and the booth seating is comfy as. Btw the service was impeccable.
