After 30 minutes I still hadn't been asked my name or my problem, and there was no drama happening. I relocated my big toe myself and hobbled out. Wonder how they manage chest pain, once they ask the problem. I used to work in the Mount ED - its slipped a bit. Oldish female RN not in a happy place.

This place is a disgrace and a scam. I went there from Kingston SE by ambulance - all volunteers by the way - living angels they are and then the nightmare began when i entered the hospital. Left for hours and only once a nurse came in for 10 seconds. I could not reach the nurse call button and no amount of calling resulted in anyone coming. I was njext to the emergency ward which was empty the entire night i was there so they were not busy. Finally at about 10 ;30 pm a doctor came and did a test and i asked that he get a nurse as i said i was freezing and suffer from acro synosis and he said he would but did not. About 2.30 am i was woken and taken to the surgery ward - past hundreds of huge copies of paintings - it is like an art gallery - i asked a nurse about them and she said they are rented - it must cost a fortune to rent hundreds of prints to hang in corridors that nobody stops and looks at - an incredible scam. Now i know hospitals - i have had seventeen operations in my life. This building is like a palace and i have stayed in private hospitals and the surgery ward was mainly empty. For breakfast i ordered Weetabix, toast and vegemite and a white coffee and got corn flakes, marmalade and a black coffee. They did my tests and wheeled me back to the ward and left me with a cage around the bed - came in and took the sides down but not the bottom bit when i am a very tall man - i clicked the button for a nurse and no response for a quarter of an hour despite endlessly clicking the button and ended just shouting abuse until i got a response. I just looked up reviews of Mt Gambier for people wanting to move there and there were comments about the healh care being woeful in that city and i can understand why. The staff in this hospital should be ashamed of themselves and the administrators are obviously on a scam eg the prints. I would like to add that I was admitted there on 18/03/17. I was released by the doctor - as I left the nurse asked me if I was alright - I said obviously not, the taxi driver asked me if I was alright I said obviously not he took me to the library so I could use the internet and collapsed - had to be carried in - people wanted to call and ambulance when I had just been released from hospital so I said no -I ended up getting help home....There were many witnesses to that. I ended up having to get an ambulance and police to take me at public cost days later to get a mobility device.... I had a call on 03/04 from Country Health that they would work a plan out for me. On 02/05 I went and saw Janet. It is now August and still no response....interesting seeing as it regarded an ability to drive....this mob will never see a flashing red light until it crashes through their windscreen.

I attended the Hospital Pharmacy on the 23/06/2017 between the hours of 11:30 and 12 pm and the service i received was more then horrific. I approached the Pharmacy desk which was in darkness and no one at the desk with no bell to ring I knocked on the window & no one responded so I went over to the accounts desk were i was ignored by a staff member for around 5 minutes finally after i got her attention I asked if she knew if there was anyone at the Pharmacy today & she proceeded to say "there is a wall here I cannot see into the pharmacy can I? " After standing shocked for 30 seconds she said "well is the window open?' After hearing this I didn't even bother continuing to pursue what I gone there for. Cannot believe I have been spoken to like that. Awful.

Poor quality doctors, I was recommended panadol and nurofen for excruciating pain. I had to go to ferrers clinic and talk to the doctors there to get painkillers that were suitable for the amount of pain I was in! Ridiculous that the hospital doesn't know what they're bloody doing. Half the nurses are bloody rude and just don't care, the same with the doctors! Some of the doctors and nurses are so arrogant and up themselves. The St Johns ambulance staff were lovely though that picked me up, they gave me strong painkiller aka the green whistle while I was on the way there. The bloody nurses were asking how much pain I was in while the painkillers were still in effect like hello?? The painkillers are still in effect, I'm not going to be able to feel any or much pain. Some of the nurses are as dumb as a bag of rocks. I hope I never have to go there for anything really really serious because I doubt I could rely on many doctors at that bloody hospital.
