A beautiful national park with a plethora of walks through nature for all fitness levels and time limits. Amenities are excellent with many shelters for picnics or the free electric barbecues. The meals in the cafe also look good, but are rather pricey. I couldn't think of a better place to spend a perfect autumn day, but every season would offer it's own unique experiences. Just remember to pre-purchase a parks pass online or from the visitor center when you arrive.

With Nature! A magic and a beauty! I enjoy this, Let me think more likely! I figure life is a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You never know what hand you're going to get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you. The good of the environment or not; In fact, the primary survival and development. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth, befalls the sons and daughters of the earth. Man did not weave the web of life; He is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, He does to himself. When the mind is pure and tranquil, we have arrived in pure land. Recommend

Our family loves Mt Field National Park, lovely walk around Dodson Lake, well worth staying in the Government Huts. Very basic but a great experience, especially for children. No power so you need a light, good bunks (4) with good mattresses. Firewood is provided for the wood heater so take matches/lighter to light the fire. The huts also have a sink and tapped water. No cooking facilities so you will need a bbq or gas cooker. As I said very basic but well worth doing.

We often visit Mt Field as it is a peaceful generous spaced bush campground with most facilities (except dump point) and is a short walk to Russell Falls, which are breathtaking. Lovely restaurant & tourist shopping available in National Parks centre. Lots of bush walks and fab children's playground near campgrounds. A must see/experience while in Tasmania.

We did the falls and tall trees loops. Loved the feeling you get when you are in the thick forest with nobody else around. Huge trees and some great falls. We stayed in the park run camp site near the trail heads. Bathroom was great but kitchen left a bit to be desired causing us to break out our gas stove for the first time. The trails get busy as this is an accessible spot.
