Room is great and value for money especially if you’re looking for room to stop overnight on your way. They can do late check in as they have their bar opening till late so very flexible as travelers you can’t really be there before the reception close at 4 or 5pm. Their staff we met at reception is very nice and helpful too. Room is spacious for two with luggages. Bathroom are clean and have separated shower wet space and dry space. Overall is great value and location.
Positives: comfortable bed, nice towels, clean bathroom. Fridge was a great size in my room, other rooms had smaller and newer ones. We loved the tavern food and the motel was a good location for us. Great to have the shopping centre over the road.nNegatives: blind was broken and couldn’t be fixed during my stay so stayed down, freezer leaked water into the fridge, some cutlery was dirty old food stuck on it, ceiling had dust hanging off it, toilet seat not secure and almost caused injury. Housekeeping aware of the toilet seat issue, it’s bolted in but the wrong type for the toilet. I’m told they plan to order a new one. Room smelled musty. Had to keep windows closed because people were frequently smoking nearby.nConsidering the negatives, overall it wasn’t good value for money. However, my other family members had a better experience than myself and hence we would all stay again.
We recently held my father in laws 90th birthday celebration at the tavern. We did it as a lunch event. The staff were all fabulous, meals were great and location was perfect. Everyone paid for their own meals and drinks, we just booked the space. Staff provided a water station and balloons to match our colour theme. Most guests had travelled from interstate, so having accommodation on site, was very helpful. Everyone had a very enjoyable day. Thank you Morayfield Tavern for your assistance and service for this surprise party.
Completely unacceptable experience due to management failure.nnI stayed over Christmas 24–26 Dec. On the second night, my room key stopped working, forcing me to leave Christmas dinner early and rush back by 8:30pm so a cleaner could let me in. After that, I was effectively trapped in the room, missed the rest of Christmas with my family, and spent the night alone.nnThere was no emergency or after-hours contact, despite spending around 40 minutes trying to reach staff. Management later blamed it on Christmas being a public holiday — not acceptable for a hotel. I later fpund out the cleaner contacyed the manager and she didn't come back to rectify the issue, she probably didn't want to ruin her christmas by spending an hour of her time off to prevent completely ruining my christmas.nnI was told twice that a refund would be processed. The second time was confirmed in writing by email, yet nothing happened. After more than 11 days, I had to threaten escalation to the ombudsman just to get a response and a refund — and even then, only one night was refunded, completely ignoring the $130+ in fuel and the hours of driving for the soul purpose of spending christmas with family. No apology, no accountability.nnI was lied to, ignored, disrespected, and treated unprofessionally. To top ot all off, the air conditioner sounded like a jet engine making it hard to sleep and the food was not acceptable for the price.nSerious management issues here. Avoid if you expect basic service, honesty, or respect.
Pretty dissapointed. Went mothers day the new staff need to be trained better. Ordering our meal and another staff member kept interrupting her while serving us.nMeals were no where near as good as what they normally are. Hardly no oyster in the shell and hubby's steak was inedible. Very disappointed after spending $120 on meals alone
