We were a party of four and booked a table for Friday night as it is a popular venue. The atmosphere was really good and cheerful. We had drinks at the bar while waiting for our table to be ready and then ordered two beef burgers, one parmi and a fish burger unbattered as I wanted it. They brought a generous plate of mixed olives which we really enjoyed while we were waiting for our dishes. We were served in a timely manner short after and we all found our dishes really tasty and well presented. Recommend.
The Montague Hotel is a great local pub in the back streets of South Melbourne, a great position for a relaxed catch up with friends. Good seating options inside and tables outside too. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. Drinks list is very good and the food menu here is decent with good variety and quality. We shared a few dishes and none disappointed with good flavours, great serving sizes, fresh, hot and just very well done. Will definitely be back to enjoy this place

We were a family of 4 with teen kids and had lunch on a Sunday. The service was friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding. My husband declared it was his new favourite place. We'll be back.
We had dinner last night before a tram ride into town to see Mary Poppins. Our meals came promptly, were delicious, and our kids were made so welcome. Eloise was absolutely delightful and couldn’t have been more welcoming.

We leave Australia this week and so enjoyed the Montague being our local pub. We and our 2 dogs have been welcomed by the Team. Food, wine and service always good. Great atmosphone.
One of the oldest but still has that vibe. Great place to catch up with old friends and also make new ones. Wide range of spirits and good food... Can't go wrong with a chicken Parma
A great local pub and naturally very popular with the locals. Eat in the spacious public bar or in the dining room - the same menu is on offer. Great outdoor seating out the front which is popular in the warmer months. The service is friendly and casual and the menu has the usual pub fair with a kids menu.
Great steak special on Thursdays - decent portion and well made, we also had some delicious starters and sides like the mash potato and a charcuterie board. The staff here are very accommodating and on top of things.
