As an affordable accommodation option in central Brisbane, this was an okay hotel. The bathroom had been recently refurbished and was very nice, and the rest of the room was clean and spacious, if a little tired. The staff were friendly and a free bus link that takes you to Queen St Mall makes its location bearable. The attached eatery, however, was another matter, serving up the worst meal I had on my entire holiday. Overall, as hotels go, there are better options and I'm unlikely to return to this one.
I’m happy with my stay at that hotel. Yes the furniture is a bit old but everything works well and is comfortable so I don’t mind AC, complimentary tea and coffee with boiling kettle and fridge. The bathroom is fully renovated. There’s a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. Only minus point is that I saw one cockroach in the luggage room by the reception when I arrived and one dead one in my room see pic. I wouldn’t mind staying there again Ps: bakery and coffee places just next door and restaurant menu didn’t seem too expensive didn’t try though
On top of a hill. Difficult to get your luggage up to from central station. But quite nice for walk distance to Elizabeth Street Mall. Rooms were very uninspiring. Evident attempts at updating bathrooms. Bathroom was okay though. Price was the highlight, very cheap but it reflects in the maintenance and cleanliness. One of our rooms had a lamp shade with what seemed like blood on it. Kettle was extremely smelly, definitely needed a good rinse out. Half the coat hangers were broken or completely bent, etc.
Affordable & great for those with big day plans as it’s just a nice place to sleep & not spend the whole day in. Bathroom is nicely renovated. Bed is comfy, TV works, A/C works nicely too. Room came with a kettle & mini fridge. Nice little room to end your day in.Rooms: 3/5
After I made the reservation through an agency, I emailed hotel to confirm the booking and requested early check in if possible. I was told they placed a note on my reservation advising my EAT. When I arrived, there was only one young lady in reception and she said that not only there’s no note, but also we do not have any booking under my name! She also said that we do not have any room available for today. I checked the hotel availability and found available rooms for that day and asked her to contact her manager who confirmed my booking but she refused. While I was waiting for the manager, the receptionist said that she contacted her manager and there is a booking under my name and it might be mine however, might be another person with the exact same name! It was by far the worst hotel welcoming and I hope the management can hire more polite and helpful person for front desk
Very affordable place to stay centrally in Brisbane. The food wasn't bad either from their bar/restraunt. No complaints with the rooms, yes they are older but the budget price to stay makes up for that. The only negative was the uphill walk from the CBD might be a struggle for those who are older
Great location. Right in the heart of Brisbane walking distance to roma st.Rooms with great views, very cheap and convenient. Very nice bathrooms except the rooms were a bit lacking. But all round very nice placeRooms: 3/5
The receptions were really lovely. Especially Georgia who helped me a very noisy fridge! The rooms however were old, and need updating on the grumpy side too. Although the newly renovated bathroom was nice.Rooms: 2/5
Receptionists were friendly and helpful. Rooms were ok. Bed side lamp didn't work. Tried to call for it to be changed but there was no instructions on what number to dial tried 0, 1 and a few other combos. Location is good, however there is usually some traffic noise. Unfortunately there seems to have been construction somewhere outside that started at 4 am, that I am sure disturbed many surrounding people.
The hotel itself reminds me of Soviet union. It's advertised to have modern rooms, but they're as outdated as my grandpa's Soviet time apartment Eastern Europe. The restaurant below the hotel doesn't even deserve one star. We ordered two appetizers and a main to share between two. I couldn't drink the wine past two sips. It wasn't vinegary, just disgusting for a merlot. Usually I can at least finish a wi W that's not that great. It's the worst meal I've ever eaten! Couldn't even finish the dips and olives. Dips were overly acidic, olives tasted weird. Will not be surprised if I'll end up with a food poisoning.
