Andrew and the team were super helpful when I sustained a lower back injury. I was easily able to make a same-day appointment booking using the website, and once my treatment began it was a clear and easy process. I was back to my usual routine within weeks as initially forecast and I now have helpful strengthening exercises to help manage things in future.
Michael was a great Physio. We went through detailed training plans to meet a certain deadline to allow my hamstrings to heal in time before sport. His communication was thorough and explained everything in detail. He gave me the right exercises in order for my hamstrings to recover and set out goals that were realistic. I highly recommend Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy as I’m sure all the physiotherapists here are like Michael.
The team at Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy Blackburn are welcoming and the space is fantastic. Andrew was my physio and I can't thank him enough for the treatment he gave me. Andrew is experienced and explained my injury in a way that I understood. He is caring and took my recovery step by step, relieving my pain first and building strength once the pain was relieved. Every week, my injury improved with the exercises that Andrew gave me to do. I highly recommend Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy Blackburn and particularly Andrew for treatment.
Andrew helped me with a lower back issue, which was resolved in a short stint of rehabilitation. He's detailed, helped me understand what my issues were, and provided a practical set of exercises as part of a progressive program to get back to my previous activity level. Highly recommended.
Andrew Lay and the Melbourne Sports Physiotherapy team resolved my persistent 17-month ankle, hip and neck issues. Prior to seeing Andrew, the injuries would flare up and forced me to limit my activities, sometimes staying in for weeks at a time. Andrew is friendly, extremely detail orientated and attentive to the history of my injuries. He began with an accurate diagnosis, explained things thoroughly and came up with an effective treatment plan which had clear video instructions for all the assigned exercises that targeted my weak spots which were the root cause of the flareups. There was clear progress between every visit to the clinic where Andrew would adjust the exercises for my increased capability. Once I had recovered and 'checked out', further exercises were provided for me to manage things in the future. For other providers I had seen in the past I had to repeatedly come back for further treatment and temporary relief. At Melbourne Spots Physiotherapy it was clear that their goal was to get to the cause and resolve it. The clinic is well equipped, clean and it was extremely easy to make an appointment. I highly recommend Andrew and the team's professional expertise and cannot thank them enough.
Awesome experience at Melbourne Sports Physio Blackburn! Staffs here all super friendly, in particular my physio Andrew has been super patient, approachable and informative the whole time during my numerous recovery sessions, making me quite comfortable about my ankle injury. I totally recommend this place!
Andrew has been great to deal with as I have been seeing him to treat my neck and lower back issues. After seeing a number different physios and osteos in the area, I’ve found that Andrew’s experience and technique has really helped me, and the ongoing manage of these through targeted exercises that are working. I felt genuinely cared for and listened to by Andrew and got the results that I wanted and also without the pressure felt by some other practices that Ive been to where they wanted me to book in another session… which feels like they’re more commercially focused.
I came to see Andrew Lay for physio around 4 months ago for my knee after having multiple acl reconstructions as well as meniscus tears. I was told I was unable to do sport by previous physios and doctors. I honestly had no confidence in myself and had very low expectations as I had been previously told that I can’t do much. On the very first session Andrew told me he doesn’t see why I can’t do sport and that he thinks he’d be able to help me. I could barely jump without being in pain, had no strength, balance and alot more. Andrew helped me learn things to help my knee physically and pushed me to strive for my best. Going above and beyond Andrew also helped me build a lot of confidence that I didn’t have. Compared to my first session with Andrew to now I can happily say I can jump with no pain, I have built my leg strength and can do things I was previously told I could not. I could not recommend Andrew and the team at Melbourne sports physio more !! Thank you Andrew !!

Excellent professional and supportive experience with Andrew and team at MSP Blackburn. Andrew took the time to assess and understand my injury shoulder dislocation and subsequent subluxation and my goals for physiotherapy. He developed a plan for my rehab program, explained the process clearly and set realistic expectations for me. All exercises were clearly demonstrated in person and via an app so the program was easy to followed and keep track of. After completing the rehab program I've been able to return to physical activities including lifting weights and rock climbing. The team at MSP is great including lovely reception staff and organised IT system of appointments and reminders. Location is also convenient with parking on street and at the back of the building. Overall very satisfied and definitely recommend, thank you!!
