Story

Melbourne Bowling Club was established in 1864 and is the oldest bowling club in Australia

Conveniently situated in Windsor, only a few metres from Chapel Street, close to public transport, the club is a busy and thriving establishment with many members both young and old. The club provides a wide variety of bowls experiences, from competitive pennant competitions, to tournaments and social bowls. As well as 4 bowls greens, we offer a wide range of facilities to cater to any function, large or small. Together with our friendly staff, we are here to assist you in planning your event as well as enjoying your special occasion at our club.

Being the oldest bowling club in Australia is enough of a reason to visit. It boasts three greens, a lively clubhouse, all the equipment you need to play if you didn't bring your bowls, even just for a fun day of a team building exercise. The staff are more than helpful and the beer is cold .

Here for a 60th birthday. My first visit. Drinks are a great price. The staff are wonderfully attentive with a big crowd. Great work!

Lovely place to hold an event. Very spacious, easy to get to. Close to Windsor Train Station Very cheap bar price.

We went to see a Swing Big Band here last Sunday. Great music for a dance. Really Friendly staff and Members, Whitey was very welcoming and he went out of his way to help us.

Not fabricated history, but proper historical surroundings. Great place to hang out of a sunset with some beers and some mates.

It was alright. Good bar and very comfy lounges. We were there for a Christmas party but weren’t interested in playing lawn bowls.

The worst experience of celebrating my birthday I’ve had here. Especially with the cook/ chef, who was rude , very ungrateful. The food was shoved into our faces and he kept making faces , being rude in front of our guests. He knew we had only 20 people coming and when we placed order we never got informed that it will be tooooo much. The venue provides no take away services so atleast 5kg of food just gone to waste. After all that it started raining and we had to move inside, we hardly played any games outside and there was no one to assist that cause we’re paying the full amount that we can use the inside area and play some other games there. A lot of money wasted on the food and the venue. Wouldn’t recommend.
