This place does not answer their phone. I have been trying to get in touch for the past 5 days and they have not answered once. I have left my name and number multiple times and requested they call me back but they haven’t. I desperately need this blood test done as I have another appointment next week that I cannot change and I need these results back. There is no email to contact and they don’t answer when you call yet they make it clear that you can’t get the test done without an appointment, I’m genuinely at a loss :
I want to thank the lady who took my bloods yesterday 25-07-2023 kicking myself for not asking her name. I am due with my first baby & this lady was so kind, so calm, so patient didn't rush me in/out, took a genuine interest in her patient / customer & ended the conversation by saying "I'm here if you need anything". This lady deserves recognition & a pay rise :-

Sarah is absolutely wonderful. I took my 6 week old daughter here for a heel prick. After a rather traumatic experience at a different location where my daughter screamed for the whole 10 mins, I was a little reluctant to take her for another prick test. However, to my pleasant surprise, Sarah was very warm, empathetic and so gentle - even applied a warm pack to make the blood draw easier, the baby stayed asleep for most of it! She also called numerous places to ensure that the samples will arrive at the lab in a timely manner. I hope she works here all the time, because I will be returning here for any future blood tests.
Relatively short wait, very nice lady, but did have to explain that cholesterol test didn't require me to fast. Was charged $30 for Vit D test, never have been before.
I was COVID positive and desperately needed a blood test the week of Boxing Day. On top of it all, I’m terrified of needles. Barbara was the most gentle kind person that made the 3 lots of blood taken a non issue. Thank you so much for being so patient and good at your job. Only critique is parking.
It’s actually quite disgusting that people feel it’s ok to give a public health service 1*. I’m sure this is highly exaggerated. And the dude that’s upset they served a pregnant woman before him. Really? Staff are always friendly and pleasant here I’ve been going there for years. My bloods are always super easy. But I’ve always been informed I have a nurses ideal veins. Also don’t forget, not everyone has veins suitable for extracting blood easily compared with others. That’s not their fault. Please be respectful when making reviews. Think before you post. It’s a Public Health Service people not a restaurant.
Excellent! Usually I go to a pathology and each time I suffer, they try to find my tiny vein and can't.. They insert needless here and there then finally they get it from my wrist.... This happened to me during the past 10 years. The good news I found this pathology and the pathologist got it easily from the first try!!!! I'm so happy
I went in this morning for a three part series blood test, for pregnancy. As I arrived there first thing, I was the only one there, and when I came out of the first test, the clinic was extremely busy. The phlembotimist was an absolute wizard, gentle and efficient. It was making me dizzy, how quickly everyone was coming in and out. For those complaining about waiting because pregnant people are seen first, the following may make more sense - 1. The tests are pre-booked 2. You need three blood tests, exactly 1 hour apart, so that the results are accurate. They are time sensitive to fasting, followed by ingesting a glucose drink 3. The Mater pathology is the main pathology for Mater Mother's to access this information, so yes, there will be a lot of pregnant women there, requiring time sensitive testing. 4. It's not always as easy sticking a needle in, many people have extremely tricky veins, are dehydrated, feel faint at looking at needles...The list goes on. You also want to make sure they have all your correct details, and you shouldn't be rushing safety. Additionally because it gets so busy, I went and waited in my car, so you might look like you've been waiting longer, but people may be there, before you. Noone in the waiting room offered there seat for me, so I decided to wait in my car for the second/third part. That's not the staff's fault. I agree that there should be two people there, so the staff can take a breath, but given the small space, they do an amazing job.
My wife called today between the registered opening times of 8am to 4pm as per Google to book for a blood test. The receptionist Debbie was incredibly rude and directly caused my pregnant wife to be very upset. She was told that we had not called during business hours, but we are questioning how we managed to speak to a receptionist if this was not the usual business hours? Will be avoiding this place like the plague.
