Have stayed here 5 times. The convenience of the location is what got us here. As it is exactly half way for us.nBut the service and quality of the room kept us coming back.nLinda goes above and beyond to ensure the rooms are clean and very comfortable.nNow the bypass is open we need to keep places like this open! I won’t stay anywhere else. Thanks again for a beautiful stay.

Lyn the owner at reception was incredibly attentive and helpfull. Room was as clean as we have experienced anywhere.  Booking was so simple with no deposit being demanded.  Just a fantastic no bother place to stop over and an added bonus of no trucks passing by at night now that the Gympie bypass is open.  Great job Mary River Motel, you are a winner, keep it up.

Our Group of 11 listed Gympie for a weekend from Brisbane, to explore the town of Imbil, take a stroll through Gympie's main street to view the old styled architect edition buildings, especially 1870's style.  Enjoyed Tapas at Rusty Rails Cafe Saturday night, pre our Sunday steam train ride on Mary Valley Rattler..and our choice of motel at Mary River Motor Inn truly topped it all off.   Lovely fresh and clean rooms, we felt safe and appreciated the warm motelier reception too. Recommend staying here when in Gympie

Travelling through with work.nOwner was nice, however asked if I had any children, I said yes, one. I was asked if they were under 8, I said no, but asked why, to be told that children under 8 are not allowed to stay, owner mentioned that she maybe increasing this to 12 years of age, no reason besides the fact she doesn’t like children staying because they whine/whinge. Yet there are units that back onto the motel, where on arrival a lady was losing her mind, yelling, screaming, swearing. Best to avoid if you have children travelling with you.nRoom smelled musky/damp, features mildy outdated. Bed was comfortable.nThere is a minibar available.nHeard some traffic noise throughout the night, but with new bypass open wasn’t too noticeable.nWould recommend to couples/solo travellers, but not to those travelling with children.

Rang to make an enquiry on room availability and price for a social club event I am organising in Gympie, the lady was quite rude stating she didn't do group bookings because everyone would want to use the BBQ and the insurance would be too much. I explained i was merely seeking out accommodation to list on the social clubs news letter so members could choose their own motel. She then left the phone on the desk while she went to sort to other business returning a minute later sternly asking what date do I need. Her manner was very abrasive and she asked would there be kids. I asked if this was how she always treated customers as her service is terrible, she said that's how it is!nPlenty of other great motels in Gympie unfortunately she just missed out on my business and many others,
