Booked 3nights ended up staying a week. Best campground I've stayed at. Right on the gorgeous sandy beach, with a pool .Biking and walking distance to the warf for food. Really loved our stay and cant wait to return! My only complaint is I wish the bird was not locked in his cage all day. Parrots need a bit more interaction. Please take bird out daily!
Price gone up from $16 per person to $31 for powered site from 1st Oct now called high season.Pool not open,sauna and tv room closed and amenities need updating. Very high price for nothing.Was our local place but with price increase might have to rethink this 1.Top 10 cheaper with proper reception area that sells items and more updated playground area,bouncing pillow and amenities
Locatio, location, location! Absolutely loved it. Even question on reception would you prefer more quiet site or busier? Nobody asked us before! Well done. 100 points. Friendly staff, clean camping ground. We even extended formone more night stay. Loved it! Not sure about recycling deal in Māpua but would be great to have more recycling option than just glass bin. Nearby activities: Biking tracks Walkability: Walking distance to Four Square and coffee shops. Walking distance to playground if you have kids.
Great stay in this paradise! We had a cute A frame cabin with an ensuite and loved the space. Cabin vibes with everything you need and a cosy feel. The beach was super close & the pool the other side. Staff were friendly and the place felt well organised. Thanks!!
Stayed on a beach front site for one night, found the park Nice and spacious with good facilities pool sauna etc, the block is older but functional. Price was a little high, compared to other parks in the region that are on the beach, in the high 60s for two of us with power.
Am still here. A great place. Friendly staff. Lots of walks. 10min walk to 4square. Beautiful views. To Richmond hills, Nelson. And the endless sea.
October is a great time to go as the park is very quiet. We had a great time. The units are clean and tidy. The staff friendly and helpful. Easy walk to Mapua wharf.
A beautiful location any time of year! Stayed here on the way north with my partner and a mate and weren't disappointed. Only downside is in agreement with other recent reviews amenities are run down and tired, and kitchen appliances/ cleaning supplies are missing.
A sad case of "kiwis don't complain about getting the minimal" massive grounds but tiny kitchen area and with toilets and showers creamed on to of each other with no shelter around them, sauna only open a few hours, kids program cancelled, clothes mandatory, Though laundry room was nice enough..
Great beach, hot showers, kids liked the pool and playground. Hot weather and plenty of troom for the tentsService: 5/5
