We stayed one night back in March 7th 2026. I took a long time to write a review because I just finished editing my travel video. The area is lovely. Stayed in a powered site close to the beach. Many washers, dryers and clean facilities. We were in a campervan so we didn't use the kitchen. What a wonderful holiday park! So much for the kids to do. It was close to the beach and all amenities. We had a roomy powered site with a fantastic view of the beach. The kids were never bored. We are already planning our next trip there!
What an incredible Holiday Park! Waking up to a view like this is something a girl could get used to. Especially as it’s in the pet friendly area! Travelling alone can feel quite daunting but I felt so safe. Facilities were one of the cleanest and tidiest I’ve seen on my travels. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially when the dog decided to roll in something completely gross on the beach and I needed to find a dog wash! can’t wait to come back!
Just stayed here for a couple of nights with my dog. The dog friendly units are awesome - complete with your own private grass/garden area. Cafe near reception is also dog friendly. Really enjoyed our stay - in general the park is great, tidy and well set out. Look forward to returning soon :
We stayed one night at Tāhunanui Beach Holiday Park at the beginning of February 2026 and really enjoyed the experience. Our powered site was right on the waterfront, close to Block 4, which made it convenient for accessing the facilities. The park itself is enormous with plenty of amenities and very well‑maintained areas. The shower and toilet blocks were spotless, with excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water. The communal kitchen was also impressive — fully equipped with everything needed to cook meals, make tea or coffee, and there were plenty of tables where guests could sit and eat comfortably.nThe park grounds were tidy and well cared for, with good recycling options and clear signage. Wi‑Fi was fast and reliable, and the location made it easy to catch a bus into Nelson for a day of exploring. My only concern was the lack of visible security. Because of public access from the waterfront walkway, it seemed that a few non‑guests might have wandered in. Installing cameras or keypad gates would improve peace of mind. Apart from that, we had a lovely, relaxing stay and would happily return.
