I made It to Malvern at the end of my line and this place was my saving grace. I’d be lying if I said being there was easy, but I would go there over again if I had to.nnThe staff are great, I still see the therapists now that I did while I was in there in their amazing day programs.nnIm Coming up in nine months of sobriety and my life is so different. I will forever be grateful for what I was taught while I was in here. And all I had to do was listen and do what others before me had done to get the same success that I have seen from so many others that have Attended this hospital.
Many thanks to MPH for getting my life back on track- it is above all a rehab. All the staff are friendly, professional and helpful.nnIt’s one of those situations where you get out what you put in. In 4 weeks I was able to learn more about myself than in 40 years.nnNow following the recommended program I have never been happier.nnThank you once again for my new life free of Alcohol- and the connections I have gained in the 12 step programmers
MPH managed my detox and recovery for 28 days in March ‘24, while I was an inpatient, and provides ongoing sobriety assistance via their Day Program which I attend twice/wk, fully covered by health insurance.nThe professional and helpful care given has been life-changing, from general informal sharing of space with other addicts, to professionally run group therapy sessions and one-to-one counselling sessions. I have benefited immensely.nThe hospital also provides specialist GP/psychotherapist assessing and follow up, and psychiatric care.nThe inpatient program is quite strict, but I understand the reasoning, and as I said, I have benefited. I have embraced the AA program since discharge, and together with the ongoing MPH support I have remained sober now for 2.5 months.nI’ve also made many new friends and am extremely grateful! I was a patient at mph. I will never recommend this barbaric facility. I was so traumatised. I don't feel I can right this review. It should be adiduted. The shame, humiliation and dehumanisation is abhorrent. It is not safe. I had hundreds of $ worth of possessions stolen from room. My counsellor told me 'well your living with addicts that's what they do' . I was then told my valuables should be locked away. It was all my fault. If I was starving I wouldn't go there for a free plate of food.nI'm happy and healthy now. Mph set me back 2 years. Never send a loved one therennJune 27 2024nConsidering owner you did not receive a report of my possessions going missing is concerning as during the day I reported it. There was a full room search of all patient's rooms. We waited in the big lounge for about an hour. Of course nothing was found.nnAs for me extending my stay. It was nothing to do with me. My counsellor told my parents I could not be rehabilitated. I needed to go away for a long time. I'm not sure how much money you get from referrals and extending stays. My parents now say it was one of the worst things they ever did.nnI suffered anxiety and drank too much. Staying at Mavern is like having a tooth pulled without anaesthetic and being left.nnSTOP BLAMING THE PATIENTS!!!nnMy family and frinds are now happy to have me back. Malvern you should be shut down
Lovely and caring staff and a great facility for detoxing but the program as a whole needs a complete overhaul with fresh input in my opinion. MPH seemed to have a very clumsy and tired 'ad-hoc' approach with an over-reliance on group therapy as opposed to 1:1, targeted counselling - which only occurs once a week.
