I took my partner to Malt for Valentine's this year. The place had a great vibe, especially with the live pianist and a red rose on the table. We both enjoyed the food which introduced us to new flavours and was presented well. One of the waitresses, who I think was French, was particularly friendly and spoke very passionately about each dish that she brought out. The only thing that didn't go well was a miscommunication about the special Valentine's offer. I was told over the phone when booking that $25 got you the rose, two glasses of sparkling wine on arrival, and some complimentary chocolates at the end of the evening. When we didn't receive our wines on arrival I asked the waitress about it. She said we hadn't booked that offer but quickly poured two glasses of prosecco for us, though no further explanation was offered. When we received the bill it was a bit of an unpleasant surprise to see we were charged $50 for the package. It turns out there were two packages, one for $25 and another which included the wines and bread sticks with dips for $50. I'm certain that I was given the wrong information as my partner is gluten intolerant and I wouldn't have opted for the bread sticks had I been told about it. We were also given macarons instead of chocolates which she can't have either. The staff were quite apologetic about it and said they would try to find out where the miscommunication stemmed from but ultimately did nothing to make up for it. In any case, we had a good time and everything else was reasonably priced. Just wish they had taken responsibility for providing the wrong information.

Classy and romantic atmosphere in the restaurant and there's often live piano music on Saturday nights which helps complete the ambiance. Good service and the food has always been spot on with excellent preparation and attention to detail. There's a full cocktail bar and a solid wine list which includes glasses, half-bottles, and full bottles. All in all, one of my personal favorite restaurants in Brisbane.

Very nice (if small) menu. There's also degustation menus if you have time.
