Came a year ago and it was fantastic. Quality was there, as well as excellent plating up. The theatre was present; sashimi came out on a big bowl of ice with lights underneath, plus dry ice smoking away. The sushi rolls were presented with edible flowers, small fruits placed on top and a sauce.

Unfortunately a year later, it has all changed. The food was very average, the chicken we ordered was raw and had to be sent back (obviously). The presentation was so boring and lost all flair that they once had. Not sure what has happened.

Had to wait out the front for longer then needed when there was waiters circulating the floor . The chicken tasted very suspicious . The only good thing about the restaurant was the speed that the food took to come out which was very quick .

Wonderful! The best japanese i have had for a while. Great portion sizes and perfect flavours. Would definitely return here more than once!

I am so pleased my husband and I happened upon this little gem just off bustling Hasting's Street.  Unlike some other Noosa establishments, MakiMoto offers down to earth service with no pretensions yet with exemplary efficiency.  Our food was served quickly (but not so that we felt rushed), and the flavours and portion sizes were perfect.  The sushi was fresh, with generous servings of (real) wasabi and ginger, the tempura crisp yet delightfully fluffy, and the teriyaki salmon was not only cooked to perfection but very generously portioned for a salmon steak with equally generous amounts of the delicious teriyaki sauce.  Meals were served with a friendly smile and staff were genuinely interested in helping in whatever way they could to ensure we were happy and comfortable.  10/10 from Alan and Terry!
