This surgery has been the best I have ever been to and I have been to a fair few in my time. The receptionists are very polite and helpful, even though it's apparent they have a very stressful job. I have seen people get stressed at them multiple times unfairly, but when I have been distressed on the phone due to mental illness, they have been incredibly understanding. The doctors are wonderful. Dr Miller helped me pursue a complex mental health diagnosis and gave me the help and validation I needed in a dark time which saved my life. He is also very respectful of gender and a trans ally, working to help us with our issues. I have seen them less, but Dr Kiddie, Dr McInroy and Dr Robertson are also really great and thorough. The one doctor I would avoid is Dr Peluso, who had the dismissive attitude of many misogynistic doctors I have had. He told me my long covid was stress - it is a common problem to attribute issues to stress/mental illness to patients who present as women. He was smug and condescending. This is especially an issue since more senior doctors had already confirmed my condition. I did not register a formal complaint, but I hope this review gets to him and he learns from this.
Been with surgery for over a year since I moved into the Bridgeton area. Not once had a problem, reception are friendly and every doctor I dealt with acted swifly.
The receptionist is al the time very rude and they never have appointments available. And she all the time telling you I don't think is an emergency iven if you want an appointment with the Dr she not giving you.
Reception staff are a joke well some of them the one with the black hair and glasses should be sacked for the way she talks to patients if it wasnt for the good doctor in their i would have left by now have a word with her she is a cheaky horrible person and going by the reviews on here im not the only person thats complained
The Doctor was really helpful. Helped me with congestion that was affecting my hearing.
Best GP surgery I've ever had, doctors and staff go above and beyond to help you out,Highly recommended
I've been a member of this practise since it opened and was familiar with some of the doctors in the previous practise as a child, now as a parent myself I have stayed with this practise for my own medical care and that of my 3 children. In times of need, Lesley & the team of receptionists have went above and beyond the norm to help and support, most recently Claire who helped with an emergency situation & arranged additional support quickly - the job they do is always greatly appreciated by my family and I. Doctor Miller has been my children's doctor since birth and always makes the visits pleasant & enjoyable for the children even when they are really poorly, this makes all the difference. He is always helpful and informative too which is greatly appreciated as a new parent. As are doctors Kiddie & Van Den Hoven. Yes, human error mistakes do happen but in times of need before, during and following the pandemic, we've always been looked after and reassured by the at Main St. Thank you!
Been with the practice for over 25yrs and have always said they are the best in Glasgow. Saw me through my teens, then when I had a baby. However over past few years it's been on a steady decline. Can't get through on the phone, can't get appointments for two weeks, rude and surly staff that are cheeky and won't admit when they make mistakes, even making up lies to hide their errors. Blaming the patients seems to be the norm now. It's a shame that management regard the way the practice is being run as acceptable.
Been with this practice for well over 3 years now. I can't fault the actual doctors within the practice as i have never had a bad experience with them at all. Reception and management on the other hand are rude, cold and heartless in terms of the way the speak to you. I've had my medication messed around more times than i care to remember. Some of it being for Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and Autism and also chronic pain. They take no responsibility for mistakes, Nor do they try resolve any issues . When you complain the same answer always applies "If you don't like it here why don't you move practice" I've had this from 4 members of staff. It's like they script what their going to say if a compaint arises. The only decent staff member is Lindsay. Who does actually go out of her way to help you when problems arise. But she's isn't always in. She is a credit to the practice. I was without my mental health medication several times for weeks at a time. Because of a miscommunication between them and dicksons chemist across the road from them. I went 6 straight weeks with them blaming the chemist and the chemist blaming them. So i did eventually have words but you can't do that, because they then accuse you of being aggressive and tell you their going to hang the call up on you. Even though its well known within the practice that i suffer from severe mental health and my medication is vitally important. One of the time i complained to the manager he stated that maybe his staff would benefit from doing some mental health training.. Which i suggested. He said this was going to be something they look into doing to improve relationships with patients. But upon my FOURTH complaint. The manager Andrew/Anthony Stated that if i "Shout" He means have words with his staff again ill be removed from the practice. I always pre warn them when my anxiety high which sometimes can make me sound uptight when i can't get my medication. You'd think they'd understand being in the care professional but they completely disregard it and make a complete mockery of you. It seems they just don't care. They don't care about the attitude their front of house staff are giving patients whom they don't know how to deal with. I feel like those with mental health are severely over looked within the practice when it comes to reception and management Not the doctors themselves. I've been on the phone to them begging for my medication sorted so many times. And they accuse me of being aggressive being im upset at the fact none of them listen. You feel the awkwardness when talking to them to the point i no longer call for myself. Either my partner or my mother in law call for me now as i just can't handle the stress of trying to talk to these people anymore. Im gutted, But only because they doctors themselves are perfect. It took me years to find a set of doctors who actually took time and care to fully understand my diagnosises. These receptionists only care about the pay packet. Too busy gossiping in the back about their weekend plans or their weekend events to even listen. From reading other reviews above i can see im not alone. I wont be leaving the practice. And i have reported the reception and management to the health board as im no longer going allow it to slide. Why should patients have to give up amazing care.. For a set of youngsters who really do not care. The manager Anthony/Andrew can make his mind up. One minute he tells you he understands. But in the same sentence tells you he will remove you from the practice if you do it again. So basically me complaining several times was just laughed at and ignored. Basically swept under the carpet. To work for the NHS, You have to have care and have compassion. You don't get this in there. With the GPs you do. But not this lot. Its off putting. And gives the practice a bad view from a patients side of it. No patient should be too anxious to phone their GP. Its just not right. How they can get on with their day knowing the massive impact their behavior has on patients its deplorable
I am a relatively new patient to this practise- 6 months- and it is much better than my old one! The Drs are very helpful and will happily spend more than the allotted time if required. I've had no trouble getting an appointment- even if it is a 7pm call!. Reception staff are helpful and lovely and the practise nurse is very nice too. Genuinely happy with my choice of GP surgery.
