Story

Luther Heights Youth Camp is owned and operated by Lutheran Youth of Queensland, a part of the Lutheran Church of Australia.

Apart from running Luther Heights, Lutheran Youth of Queensland also hold many holidays camps, training and development days, leadership training and youth ministry conferences right across Queensland.

Luther Heights offers unparalleled opportunities for your next camp with outdoor education programs focused on learning and play in a safe environment. We strive to stretch the imagination, build teamwork, confidence and trust through activities ranging from high, low and medium ropes, the giant twin line flying fox, raft building, spiritual ministry and creative development.

The first camp ever held at Luther Heights was in January long weekend 1958.

The wildlife saw a baby kangaroo with its mama eating some grassnThis camp is an awesome leadership camp and it would be great for schools. The team activities really help everyone work together and collaborate. For example, you really have to trust your team as they have to hold the rickety bridge over the muddy swamp for you to get over safely. Another example is the koala climb, everyone had to pull the rope to ensure the climber didn’t fall.nnCons:n. So technically I went there last week for the winter camp and it was SUPER fun. The location is amazing because it's only 25 minutes away and all the leaders were super nice and supportive. My room was said to be possessed but the leaders went in and checked up on us every night and cast any bad spirits out. I don't have any pictures but I am still in touch with all my camp buddies. Keep in mind I'm in year 7 and it's my first year there in an senior camp. I am lactose free and they made sure they gave me splendid alternatives. So if you think your going to miss out on any amazing food, trust me,you won't.

Had some amazing food and the camp is on a wonderful location on top of a hill overlooking a sea.

Overall, very little to fault about this place. The camp staff were extremely friendly, facilities were clean, and activities were enjoyable.nnHowever, I did not appreciate being told I wasn't allowed to consume foods containing traces of tree nuts, even though I am only allergic to peanuts. I appreciate that this is camp policy, but considering I have received professional medical advice to the contrary, I was slightly disappointed when I was told I could only eat the alternative food options provided.nnDespite this, will definitely be coming back, and would highly recommend this place to any groups seeking to relax and make use of the facilities.

Amazing staff who do regular check-ins, food is amazing. Hilly please so be prepared to work your calves! My students had a ball from the moment they arrived to the moment we left
