The Brainchild of Hobart's renowned Bentwood Coffee, Lost Freight is a boutique shipping container/ cafe situated at The Springs, on the road to Mount Wellington

Ideal for grabbing a quick coffee before you start exploring the numerous walking tracks, or for a lazy drink relaxing inside on a brisk winters day.

Serving delicious locally roasted Zimmah coffee, sweet treats and light lunch options, your visit to the summit will be complete with a stop at Lost Freight

This is an absolutely fantastic addition to Mt Wellington. We took the bus and hopped off at the chalet, then hiked from the chalet down to the cafe about 1 hour and had a coffee and lamb pie here. My friend had the Monte Carlo biscuit which was superb. The service was great and the food and drink were good quality. I also picked up a cute magnet while I was here.
Good iced latte and iced chocolate. Vegan milk available. Snacks for on the go and pies available. There’s tap water with untreated water available just next to the coffee shop. You can buy some souvenirs at the coffee shop. One hour parking available next to the shop.
We were blessed to come across this little cafe on a random adventure. Welcomed by the staff with a warm smile and hello. Barista's were smashing it with the no stop orders and service while still being able to smile. Single O coffee roasters on the menu, there was a single origin on batch brew that was delicious and the house blend as a flat white was also delicious. Take plenty of warm clothes in the cooler seasons as it can get quiet cold on the mountain. Thank you Lost Freight Team
Undoubtedly one of the coolest cafes we’ve been to. We actually drove up primarily for the coffee as opposed to the mountain / walks, but I can confirm both are a good reason! They certainly know how to make a flat white here. Delightful service and a wonderful location.
Great little cafe ‘on the side of a mountain’. Just to the left, is a hut with an open fire. Very good on a cold day. Coffee was spot on and with a large Monte Carlo biscuit, excellent.
Must visit on your way to mount wellington. Delicious coffee and pies are fresh and tasty. Great friendly staff.
Such a nice little cute cafe, surprisingly the tast of coffee was good too! Having wood fire spot in front of here absolutely makes this place way much more lovable
Amazing food! We tried their veggie wrap and beef wrap, Both super fresh and delicious, full of fresh herbs. The veggie one had hummus and falafel which were the stars of the wrap. Also tried their veggie pie, which did not disappoint. Coffee and brownies were great too! Super cozy, nice people. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed the most chocolatey and super hot how I like it hot chocolate midway thru my day hike. Lost Freight is a wonderful pit stop in our beautiful and rugged Mt Wellington Park.
