Lion Gate Lodge

I rate the location, and the annual event 'Artisans in the Garden 2022 Exhibition as a four out of five for the following reasons; Location; The Annual event 'Artisans in the Garden 2022' is held in the 'Lions Gate Lodge. Arguably, this is one of my favorite places to go; it is quiet, peaceful and has a Zen-like feel. Service; There is a pop-up Cafe' operating from the lodge for the duration of the exhibition. Unfortunately, it is only open from 11 am to 2 pm, therefore, you need to get in early if you would like to sit down, take in the art while sipping on your tea, coffee and home baked goodies. The service from the volunteers who operate the Cafe' is welcoming and friendly. Value for money; Entry to the gardens and the Annual 'Artisans in the Garden 2022', is FREE, the exhibition is open from Saturday 26th March to Sunday 3rd of April, 5 pm, 2022. X-factor; The exhibition design, placement and artifacts are skillfully placed into the garden; you would think they have always occupied the space. Love lion gate cottage... such a gorgeous well built house set in the Botanical Gardens. Especially love the art exhibition's that they have on every now and then. Nothing like a touch of yesteryear to make you feel alive.

Holly was a pleasure to deal with organising our wedding ceremony at Lion Gate Lodge. The venue is beautiful and always kept neat and tidy. We had planned for an outdoor ceremony in the garden but due to last minute rain had to move under the awning. It was still very lovely and we were so grateful for having that option. Holly and the RBG staff were super organised and easy to deal with, and also accommodating when we had to make changes covid. We had a wonderful experience and are glad to have made such special memories in a beautiful place.

This is where the Artisan Exhibition takes place. It's an exhibition of sculptures and artists who produce hand made jewellery. The products are for sale. It's open for few days and usually in the month of October. Open from 10 to 1600. The entry is free. The details are available online.

Magnificent setting of this much visited and admired Lion Gate Lodge. It was originally known as Cottage 2 or Middle Lodge, then renamed Lion Gate Lodge. There's a beautiful café surrounded by manicured cottage garden completing this stunning lodge. Besides having lunch here, you can explore the garden and there's always artisan exhibitions as well. If you close your eyes and breathe in the ambience of this cottage, you're almost transported to far away English Garden! Wheelchair friendly and definitely a must visit for all ages.

The best thing about this Lodge as a wedding venue, is its proximity to the road at the gardens! Being able to pull up right out the front to set up, is so handy, and having the Bride not ruin her feet by having to walk too far. With multiple entrance points, this lodge is the ideal space to hold a wedding ceremony or small event.
